{Chapter 2}

You've been living with a mafia boss for around 2 days, and to be fairly honest, in your opinion, he's just a good guy, he has many strange and abnormal flaws but his pros outweigh the cons, he sure is good at sweet talking. "Morning y/n! Nice day today, no bloodshed, no work and best of all, i get to eat your home made cooking!" Rui laughed as he casually got up from the sofa, where he was sleeping during his stay. You ignore him but keep the compliment in mind. "Oh come on~ the silent treatment so early in the morning? What did i even do?"
Rui pouted as he was served a full English breakfast, which turned his frown into a very wide smile. As Rui scarfed down the food, you once again tried to figure out how to leave the house.

"Rui, can i please go out today?" You say with a heavy sigh.

"Absolutely not, one foot out that door and your guts will be on the floor!" Rui chuckled happily while playing with a pocket knife, you take a step back and feel as if you're going to throw up from the graphic image that just came to mind. "Well, since im quite fond of you, I'll make sure to hold a good funeral dont worry!" A sincere smile and kind gaze greeted you as you turned to him. He puts his pocket knife away, much to your liking.

"U-uh t-thanks..." you're too afraid to rebuttle his comment. If you disrespect him you'll be killed without hesitation. But, you feel assured that he wouldn't do such a thing to you, to brighten your mood, you make a snide remark, "You'd be so hot if you weren't a brutal and terrifying mafia boss" you sigh under your breath. Rui perks up and turns to you.

"I heard that y'know" you blush instantly and regret your life descisions. Then your senses come right back. What are you doing?! Casually chatting with a mafiia boss? Are you insane? You change the topic as quickly as possible to avoid an awkward silence. "Hey, im running out of food here, i really need to go restock or both of us are going to starve..." you reply, hoping that averted his attention.

"You're right, hm, what a hassle. Don't worry, I'll be gone soon, my men have been informed about my location and are coming to collect me later today, try not to miss me too much!" Rui slyly remarked. "Im a one in a million catch, im not like other guys" laughing as he said that. You sigh, you only have to put with him a little longer and your debt can be cleared, easiest ¥700,000 you've ever made.

"Hey! what's your phone password?" You turn around to suddenly see, Rui grinning while waving around your phone recklessly. "Hey! Put that down please! Its one of the only valuable things i own! Its not something for you to mess with!" You yell, thinking about all the treasured memories of you and Tsukasa stored on that SIM card.

"I'll stop only IF you give me your password!"

"Fine! Its... 123456." You embarrassingly turn away as you say that and you rub your temple.

"Pfft, HAHAHA! Wow you're such a creative genius, you're like a modern day Einstein." He cackled as he pointed at you, mocking you. The fury building up. You give him the silent treatment but he seems to not notice as he's too occupied scrolling through your phone. "Who's this yellow haired dude?" He turns the phone to show a photo of you and Tsukasa eating at a korean BBQ. Your 17th birthday memoir. "He's my... childhood friend, he's a good person, his name's Tsukasa Tenma. I'd appreciate it if you gave me my phone back" you start to have more authority in your voice but its useless as no fear is instilled whatsoever within the mafia boss. As you two have a friendly arguement, the moment's interrupted by Rui making an concerned look as he's tackling you towards the ground, followed by a bullet flying past your heads.

"SHIT! I've been too careless!" A serious glare encroached Rui's face. He pulls out his phone while dragging you with him behind the cheap sofa for safety. You're completely shaken, quaking and in perpetual fear of death. Rui rings a number. "You idiotic baffoons! Get your asses out here NOW! Naganohara's found out my location! MAKE SURE Toya and Akito gets here! I cant trust you incompetent fools to kill them all!" He yells furiously and in a rage, as he holds you closely, to ensure your safety. He hangs up and turns to you, he gives you a tender look. "Look, on my count... i want you to dash for the door and get the hell out of here. This kind of issue isn't for your kind of upbringing. Be good and listen alright? No time to be impudent." He looks at you with a terrifying glare. Bullets flying past, it was a barrage.

"Alright..." You dont want to die. But, you cannot live a life without guilt if you were the reason someone else died.

"3..." Rui coldly announced, pulling out his pistol. You get on your feet, still crouching and face the door. You witness a few bullets hit the door, you shudder.

"Please, Rui, dont die on me..."

"Ha, who do you think i am? Worry about yourself." Rui, said that to calm you down, it was obvious. You appreciate his efforts and give him a light chuckle and thank him in response.

"2...1... GO!" Rui yelled, as he got out from behind the sofa, returning fire. You dash for the door, you dont have the heart to look back, or you'd feel too guilty to keep on running, you make it past the door and dash as fast as you can towards the stairs.

"Im sorry y/n... i saw this coming... you'll have to take this for me. Ill save you don't worry. Just hold out." Rui says with sorrow in his eyes. "You'll not need to worry about your debt, if you make it out alive, im sure you will. Ill be there soon." Rui feigned a smile. His heart aches.

As you're bolting down the stairs as you hear gunshots slowly fading into the background, completely sobbing, you nearly trip multiple times. You've reached the ground floor, freedom. You can live! You hear a thud... You're on the floor? Why does your head hurt? You hear voices. As you lay on the floor you see blood dripping down from your head, what happened to you, after less than a second of silence, you hear another unfamiliar voice while your losing conciousness. "DAMN IT, boss! The Kamishiro's sent a decoy, he knew our plans!"

"Did... Rui... set me up...? How c-could he?" Your last thoughts are filled with betrayal, hs didnt seem like the type of person to do that. Sadly, your thinking time was over.

You lose conciousness.
