Thud Thud Thud
"Sageeeee!"
I rolled over on to my stomach and pulled my pillow over my head. To be honest I really don't see why she does this. It's 11 o'clock and everyone knows that sleeping in is one of the rules for summer...I guess my mom didn't get the memo.
"Sage!"
I stayed silent with the pillow still over my face. Maybe she'll just realize that I am not getting up and go away.
My door swung open. Shit "You are not about to stay in bed all day." She said ripping the covers off of me.
"Mommmm... it's summerrr." I had whined as I curled up into a ball trying to regain the warmth I once had.
"I don't care. I am not going to let you sleep your life away... get up." She said leaving my room.
I pulled the covers back over me when I knew she was downstairs. I can just go back sleep for like 15 more minutes. She'll never know. I smiled to myself.
"Sage, If you are not up in five minutes I'm coming back up there with the water."
I slowly rolled out of bed and walked over to my window to open the curtains to let some light in. I looked under my bed and grabbed my slides and walked downstairs.
I walked into the kitchen and walked straight to the refrigerator to get the cinnamon waffles out of the freezer.
I walked over to the toaster and popped them in there, and sat on the island across from the counter as I waited hoping my mom wouldn't walk in. She hates when I do this.
Mia walked into the kitchen right when my waffles popped up. She went and sat down at the table doing something on her phone.
"Did you even knock before you came in my house?" I said with an annoyed look on my face.
"Girl shut up, you know I don't knock, I practically live here too." She said with a smirk on her face.
I smiled at my cousin as I jumped off the counter and walked over to the cabinet and refrigerator to grab a plate, syrup, and a bottle of water.
I don't really do anything fancy to my waffles. I thought to myself as I walked to the table to sit with Mia.
Mia looked up from her phone and looked around. " Where's my waffles?"
I looked at her with that "really" face. "You didn't ask for any," I said nonchalantly as I poured the syrup on to my waffles.
"I shouldn't have had to ask." She said pouting.
"Aw poor baby, you'll be okay," I said giving her one of my famous smiles.
"Never mind I'll just go to Mc Donald's without you to get breakfast." She said getting up and walking towards the door.
"Mia how are going to get there, you can't drive," I said while taking a sip of my water.
"Yes I can. I am a perfectly good driver. Oh, and when I get back we're hanging out with Alex and Kyle, so put on some clothes." She said shutting the door before I could respond to the part about us hanging out with Alex and Kyle.~•~
"Wassup Sage, Mia."
" Hey Alex, where's Kyle?"
"Oh, he's in the house getting his basketball, you know, ball is life." He said with a smirk on his face.
I laughed. "Yea I know."
"So Sage, you looking good today."Alex said studying me up and down.
"Thanks Alex." I said slightly blushing
"Why don't you two just talk or something. I mean it's obvious that y'all feeling each other." Mia said with a mischievous smile on her face.
Ughh why did she say that? She knows I only see him as a friend. Alex is tall light skin with hazel green eyes. I really can't see why he doesn't have a girlfriend. I mean yes, I know he likes me and he's cute an all but I see him more as a brother.
I kinda just laughed it off."Mia you know we're just friends."
She narrowed her eyes at both of us."Whatever you say."
So, Kyle finally came outside. I guess he couldn't find his ball because he didn't come out with it.
After we said our hellos or what not, we decided to walk around the block to see if anyone else was outside.
Now you see Mia, Alex, Kyle, and I all live in the same subdivision, Oakhaven. All the houses in this neighborhood look similar. They're all brick, some two-story, and some one-story.
Mia lives next door to me of course, Alex lives down the street and Kyle lives around the corner from me. I think Mia mentioned that her cousin on her dad's side lives around the corner somewhere, but I haven't met him yet.
"Ay Mia,... Mia!" someone yelled from down the street. Whoops, spoke too soon.
We all turned around confused trying to see who it was. It was a boy down the street in a white t-shirt with black gym shorts on pulling around a little girl in a wagon. Mia recognized the boy as soon as she turned around.
"Dallas, hey I haven't seen you in a while," Mia said running towards him.
"Oh, it's Dallas." Alex and Kyle said in unison.
We all kind of followed behind her. I guess this was her cousin that everybody knew except me. As I got closer I started to notice he wasn't too bad on the eyes he was actually really cute. Dallas has beautiful brown skin with a few tattoos on his arm from what I could see and his lips...I don't even wanna talk about them. Then, it was just the way he looked at me with that seductive smirk on his face. Let's just say Dallas is fine, and he knows it.
"So, Mia who's your friend," Dallas said while observing me.
As he was looking at me I could feel my cheeks warming up. I hope he couldn't tell that he was making me super nervous just by looking at me the way he was.
"Oh, Dallas this is my cousin Sage. She lives beside me. Sage Dallas, Dallas Sage." Mia said looking at me waiting for me to say something.
Now at this moment, the only thing that came out of my mouth was, "Hey", I was so mesmerized by this boy. This was a first.
