One day, while pulling a passenger train from Peel Godred to Hawin Lake, Dane became a runaway, and Hawin, who had been shunting, had accidentally damaged the points and neglected to tell anyone, causing him to plunge into the lake, drowning him.
This left only Whiff and Lady as the remaining S&M fleet who were observed into the NWR.
