"Jay?"
"Len, what's up? It's like...5 in the morning, are you okay?"
Lennox found Jay's groggy voice comforting as she looked around, but she didn't reply.
"Lennox?" Jay said again.
She kept her eyes facing forward as they welled.
"I...I need help." Her voice broke off, a tear spilling onto her cheek.
Her tone was enough to have Jay out of bed. He held his phone between his shoulder and his ear as he hurriedly pulled on his jeans.
"I'm coming, where are you?"
"I don't...Jay I don't know how I got here."
Lennox's panicked and disjointed speech was reminiscent, to Jay, of someone who had been high on something and was finally coming down. But Lennox had never been involved with drugs, so the clear confusion and fear in her voice made Jay quicken his pace at getting ready.
"Lennox tell me where you are."
The hesitation in answering was part reluctance to telling Jay where she was, part still processing that she was there.
"The manor. I think I came here in my sleep."
"Are you hurt?"
"I don't think so. I don't know...I can't find my clothes."
Her statement seemed nothing more than casual conversation, but it made Jay hold his phone properly. If he wasn't fully awake before, he certainly was now.
"What? What do you mean?"
"I can't find them. I don't know what happened, Jay I don't know where they are. It's cold out here."
Lennox's voice was full of fear, and Jay wanted more than anything to save her from whatever nightmare she was in the middle of.
"I'm coming. Okay? Stay where you are, I'll find you."
