Chapter 8 the dress

That evening Autumn was trying to find a dress to wear. In the room her and Lara were sharing had two folding screens. Autumn was looking through what she had. It wasn't much all she had was two vests, a leather corset and two pairs of brown pantaloons and black breeches, and her yellow dress.

"what you wearing then" Lara  asked Autumn as casually as she could

Autumn still being bitter didn't reply
"Fine" Lara said going behind the folding screen. A few moments later Autumn and Lara were going to dinner, Lara spotted Autumns outfit.
"absolutely not, no your going to dinner like that"

"well it's all iv'e got, so to bad " Autumn said continuing in her bitter manner

"show me your bag, prove it" Lara said.

"Uh, how about no"

Lara getting petty again simply helped herself to Autumns bag. It took autumn a moment or two to notice Lara searching through her bag but as soon as she did she ran over pulling the bag away from her however it was to late, Lara had already found Autumns yellow dress. Lara knew exactly what it was.

"Huh" Lara said holding it aloft

"Put that down" Autumn said snatching it from Lara and tossing it aside.

"Feeling sentimental?"

"Hope made me take it, said it was nice to remember or whatever"

"Put it on then" Lara teased

Autumn pointed her rouge into the lower left side of her gums, before looking away from Lara bitterly. Lara left it at that.

Dinner was held in a small room with a square table. The dinner was a soup and bread roll it was nice enough but it was plain, simple nothing to special

"so, Lara what have you been up to, haven't seen you in two years" Hope said

"Oh not much" Lara replied

"Oh don't undermine yourself, Lara's only the most prestigious dealer in the kingdom as well as lord"

"Yeah why don't we discuss that later!" Lara said passive aggressively. Autumn noticed Lara's expression change a little.

"Autumn? What have you been up to? Much?" Lara said shifting back to her superior tone

"Oh not much just joining the army, a knighthood, a war or two" Autumn said brushing it off as if it wasn't much. Lara bitterly shut up.

"where are you sleeping" Lara asked Hope ignoring Autumn.

"in Daniel's room, with Daniel" Hope said. Jack and James giggle

"jesus christ your childishness isn't going to win us a war, i swear i am this close to leaving you on the side of the road!" Hope snapped. Jack and James quickly shut up.

"Well Autumn, Jack and James i understand your going to need to go into hiding so i'm offering you a home here" Daniel said. Autumn nearly spat out her soup

"what! were not going into hiding were going to take down Lord Malus" Autumn said

"right, right you a woman take down a man and his army with dragons and the most powerful hoods men. And all you have is a witch and two supposed knights don't kid yourself" Daniel said

"um no, i will raise an army and we will beat him one way or another" Autumn said getting annoyed

"not a chance in hell, a woman can't lead an army let alone win, it's just not possible" Daniel said

"Daniel!" Hope said

"come on, she can't lead ,her mothers a psycho and her girlfriend a whor-" Daniel continued in his pompous tone

"shut up! " Autumn said smashing her hand over the rim of her soup bowl and splashing it across the table onto Lara "you can call my mother a psycho and you can say i can't lead that I can't lead an army but don't bring Lara on to this" Autumn said "you Daniel are a pompous, ugly, pig headed idiot who doesn't deserve Hope and deserves to be dead on the side of the road instead of those innocent men who died in your honour" Autumn said storming of up the stairs while pointing her middle fingers up at Daniel over the banister.
