BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!

I groaned knowing that, that was my alarm clock waking me up for my first day of school, ‘whoop ti doo’ (note sarcasm). 

‘Ugh’, I though. I hate school!

Today was Monday, also known as the first day of school or more correctly, the first day of my senior year in high school and to say the least I wasn’t very excited. On one hand I wanted school to end so badly but on the other hand I hated going to school. Now it’s not just the fact that I’m not very sociable but school is just not my thing. I mean I’m not dumb, I’m actually very smart! I take a lot of advanced classes but it’s just not fun for me. I don’t go to parties or school games or other stuff like the other students. I would rather sit down and read a book, write a book, study or play my guitar, write songs and sing but oh well.

Plus I’m not the prettiest girl in the world. I’m short, just about 5”, I have green eyes and I have fiery red hair (which now is coloured half black, half red). I have a decent amount of breasts and I’m not fat but I’m not stick thin like all the other girls at school either.

“Maya, time to get ready for school”, my mother called from downstairs dragging me out of my thoughts.

I groaned again and got up. I made my way to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and showered. For school I chose to wear dark skinny jeans and a grey long sleeve sweater –to hide my scars (yes I cut)-with a Mickey Mouse picture on the front-I know I dress like a 4 year old, sue me-and my black vans sneakers. I took my book bag up from the floor and made my way downstairs.

When I got downstairs my mother was at the stove cooking my stepfather’s breakfast (Tony) and Austin’s breakfast. Austin is Tony’s best friend’s son but his father died so he moved from Britain to live here with Tony and my mom and I. My mom met Tony at the law firm she works at and when my father died Tony had asked my mother to marry him-apparently he had like her for a long time and so had she- so a month after my father died they got married. I know it seems kind of harsh but my dad wasn’t the best to say the least.

*Flashback*

“Where is my dinner b*$ch!?” my dad shouted at my mom, probably holding a beer.
