Guess who?
Him?
No.
Her?
Closer.
Her?
Closer still.
Me?
...
And my face heats up like fire burning on fine kindling of a liking. The butterflies flutter in the depths of my body and my heart skips a beat with a jump rope.
Then I get the idea,
You
Me
Together.
Then you tell me you've wanted to tell me the same thing, and that I'm not the only one who likes a girl I've known since 3rd grade.
Another heart skip
And I curl up
And squeal
Like a complete idiot.
Which I am
You tell me you're happy, and I tell you the same thing.
And you send me a blushing face.
And I send one back.
An exchange of words.
I cower behind what little hair I have left after getting it cut with you earlier today.
And I let out an overjoyed whimper.
And my heart skips a beat as I read your message:
A little heart.
And I swear I've died on the inside as I lay back on the bed.
And I sigh and whisper:
"I love you"
