A/N- OMG I cannot believe this has almost 2K reads!! That is crazy!! Thank you guys sooo much!! This is just a little inbetweenie chapter filled with roomie goodness. I promise the next chapter will introduce Mr Love interest: Jamie Tartt.
'He is actually such an arrogant prick!' Audrey yelled through a mouth filled with popcorn. She was wearing her forest green Mr Winston hoodie, with black leggings and fluffy socks. She tucked a stray hair that had fallen from her messy bun behind her ear, then went for her glass of wine to wash down the salty taste of the popcorn. Lucy cocked her head to the side,
'He's a pretty prick though' she said as she too went for her wine. Her natural waves had started to escape the claw clip she attempted to tame them in, and her Hard Rock Cafe London t-shirt she had bought earlier that week on the groups trip had already been branded with a red pasta stain.
The TV showed Jamie in the interview room, he was wearing a bright orange Hawaiian shirt and his hair had grown out since Lucy had first seen him at the Man City vs Richmond game. 'I'm the Island's top scorer...' He trailed off softened his voice, 'sexually'.
'EWWWW OK never mind!' Lucy squeaked, 'back to being an arrogant prick!'
'Luc girl, he never stopped being an arrogant prick' Marie answered, breaking off a finger of Kit Kat. She tried her best to wipe the crumbs off her pastel pink Oodie, but only got the chocolate more entangled in its fibres.
The door swung open, and the girls turned to see Damian balancing a pizza and a bottle shop bag.
'Ayeeee Damo's back!' Lucy said, throwing her arms in the air. Damian went over to the girls and placed the pizza on the coffee table, causing Lucy and Audrey to flail of the couch and wrestle over the pizza. Damian went over to Marie and placed a kiss on her lips, 'alright day darl?'
'Yeah, it was pretty good, right girls?' Lucy and Audrey could only nod their reply due to their faces being stuffed with pizza.
The girls had done nothing but sit around and binge watch Jamie on TV. Damian, however had gone to work, his job in a supplement store demanding more hours than he first thought.
'So Lucy, you excited to work with the boys a bit more this season?' Damian questioned from the kitchen, putting the bottles of alcohol away in the fridge.
'Yeah it should be good! I feel like they can trust me a bit more now, with the party and all.' Lucy replied.
'Did you ever find out who's jacket that was?' Audrey interjected, in between mouthfuls of pizza.
'No, actually I didn't' Lucy pondered, 'I'll take it into the first training session next week'.
'Next week?!' Marie spoke through her mouthful of pizza,
'I thought the season didn't start until August?' Audrey said, finishing Marie's out burst.
'Yeah, but Ted wants to get the boys in shape a month early.' Lucy answered,
'That feels a bit extreme.' Marie spoke, mouth now free of pizza,
'If you like I can shoot Ted a message and ask if he wants to get a beer with us tonight?' Lucy suggested, 'that way you can ask him all about it'
'A beer with Ted Lasso?!' Damian shouted, as he came running into the lounge area. 'Are you for real?' Damian had the biggest grin on his face, full of hope and a childish excitement.
'I'll text him then.' Lucy reached for her phone and texted Ted, also inviting Coach Beard if he was keen. 'There you go!' she chucked her phone back on the table, but it immediately vibrated and lit up upon contact with the table. Lucy groaned and lurched at her phone to see Ted had gotten back to her almost instantly.
Ted Lasso:
That sounds great! I would love to meet the fellow 'non-Englanders'. Beard is in as well :)
'Teds down for a beer!' Lucy spoke to the group.
'Best day of my life!'
'Bit dramatic Damo'
