-Back aboard The Pearl-
"What happened to the chest?" Will asks, looking around.
"Norrington took it to draw them off," Elizabeth tells him.
"Where's the commodore?" Gibbs asks.
"Fell behind," Jack tells him.
"My prayers be with him. Best not wallow in our grief. The bright side is you're back, and made it off free and clear." Gibbs says, following Jack to the helm. The ship rattles and the water to the starboard churns. The Flying Dutchman resurfaces next to us. No no no no no no no. Not good. Not good. Caspian puts his hand around my waist protectively.
"Lord on high, deliver us," Gibbs says.
"Stand your ground men!" I shout to the crew.
"I'll handle this, mate." Jack tells us, grabbing his jar of dirt. "Oi, fishface! Lose something? Eh? Scungilli!" He says, tumbling down the steps. "Got it!" He yells, holding up the jar. "Come to negotiate, eh, have you, you slimy git? Look what I got. I got a jar of dirt, I got a jar of dirt, And guess what's inside it?" He sings, waving the jar in the air.
"Enough!" Jones yells.
"Hard to starboard," Jack says.
"Hard to starboard!" I scream.
"Brace up the foreyard!" Gibbs orders.
"Hard to starboard! Send his beloved Pearl back to the depths." I hear Davy Jones order from The Dutchman.
"She's on us! She's on us!" I yell to the helm.
"Make fast!" Caspian yells, letting down the topsail.
"Go on, me darling!" Pintel says to The Pearl,
"Show us what you've got!" Ragetti adds.
"Come on, girl!" Marty urges, patting the rail.
"She's falling behind!" Elizabeth announces.
"Aye. We've got her!" Gibbs agrees.
"We're the faster?" Will asks.
"Against the wind, that's where the Dutchman takes her prey. But with the wind..." Gibbs says before Will interrupts him saying,
"We rob her advantage."
"Aye." Gibbs answers.
"We're out of range!" Caspian yells from the Crow's Nest.
"They're giving up!" Marty announces, looking back at The Dutchman. They're not giving up. They're gonna release the Kraken. I think to myself.
"My father is on that ship. We can take her. We should turn and fight." Will tells Jack.
"Why fight when you can negotiate? All one needs is the proper leverage." Jack says, holding up the jar of dirt. He drops it on the deck. "Oh!" He rushes down to the pile of dirt and starts searching through it.
"Where is it? Where is the thump-thump?" He asks. The Pearl lurches and rattles.
"We must have hit a reef!" Marty yells.
"No. It's not a reef!" I scream.
"Get away from the rail!" Will yells, pulling Elizabeth away. Caspian runs up to me.
"Is it what I think it is?" He asks. I nod, wrapping my arms around him in fright. "It's gonna be okay." He whispers to me. A horrible stench wafts up onto the deck. My worst fear. The Kraken.
