"Hi love, when are you coming to Paris?"
"But... You said you were going to come"
"Your mom's home?"
"But... "
"You promised me a date"
"Fine, do whatever you want"
"I am not mad"
"I said, I am not mad!!!"
"...."
Knock knock
"Am busy, gotta go and do whatever you want. I don't care!", with that Jimin hung up the call and said 'come in' to invite the person at the door.
"Hi?", jungkook peeked in with his curious doe eyes.
Jimin immediately stood up out of respect and responded in an utterly professional tone, "hello Mr. Jeon, how may I help you?"
Jungkook rolled his eyes at the sudden unwanted shift in demeanor, "hyung?", he raised his eyebrow and gave a 'we don't need to be formal' look. And the elder got his hint and relaxed himself at that.
"Fine kook, come, have a seat", Jimin, gestured towards the office chair placed opposite to him and gave jungkook an assuring smile, at least he tried to put up his best show for the younger but failed miserably.
Jungkook was excellent at observation. The people he knew often asked why he chose tourism as a career choice when he definitely had a knack for psychology.
Jungkook nodded in response to the request and walked in the cabin. Purposefully avoiding the office chair and taking the sofa. Patting the space next to him, "come here".
Jimin obeyed and hesitantly took a seat.
"Is something wrong?", the ravenette asked.
Jimin shook his head in denial, eyes focused at the floor, a little pout on his lips.
"You're so bad at lying", the younger commented.
Jimin whipped his eyes towards Jungkook and had an unimpressed look on his face.
"What? You said I can always count on you. So let me tell you, I don't believe in one-sided favors. If something's bothering, let it out. Then we'll figure out whether I can solve it or not. If not, I'll just listen. I promise"
Jungkook's little pep talk definitely motivated the elder and he took a deep breath and grumbled in a growing annoyance, "my boyfriend, promised me a date to the Wall of Love. We planned that we'll try finding the word 'I love you' in Korean. But he bailed on me, just a few moments ago"
Jungkook nodded as a gesture that he was attentive.
Jimin sighed in defeat, "I know, i am being dramatic. But.... I miss him, you know. Long distance isn't easy. You want constant reassurance that your partner still loves you. It's not a pretty place to always doubt your bond and constantly put efforts to make it work"
Jungkook laid a hand on the elder's thigh to comfort him while silently listening.
"We love each other. There's no doubt there but.... We're always so busy. He lives in Versailles, and he'll be visiting our office soon. But... I really really waited for this date, you know. I don't like failed plans... it makes me cranky... But he has to attend his mother who suddenly decided to visit him. He's a good boyfriend, he truly is but I feel selfish for wanting him all for myself", Jimin had a tint of regret in his voice but still the demeanor was pretty calm.
Jungkook didn't say anything. Letting the elder vent out his pain.
The elder finally asked in a small voice, "am I selfish, kook? Tell me, I am", his eyes finally met the younger's and they had of sadness that Jungkook had never seen. That made him hold Jimin's hand and squeeze it reassuringly, "hyung, you're not selfish. I can assure you that"
