The Alphas Lost Mate

NORA'S POV

It's been 2 months since Kade and Keira were born and today is finally the day we can start moving. "Come on kids, it's time to start walking" I tell them.

We only manage to walk for 2 hours before the pups start whining in hunger, so I'm forced to lay down and let them drink. I'm looking around for any danger when I hear a noise in the bushes. I sniff around and realize I'm on a pack's territory.
"Argg how did I not realize this"
"I don't know maybe cause you were to concerned with the pups" my wolf says
"Well what to do now?? I can't run away with the pups"
"I don't know, think" my wolf replies

I'm pulled out of my conversation when I hear a growl, I look around and see a brown wolf growling at my with his eyes narrowed, by his aura I can tell he's a beta. When he sees the pups sleeping next to me he stops growling and his eyes soften. He takes a step near me and I let out a big growl warning him not to come any closer.

At my growl he steps back in shock and looks conflicted on whether to be aggressive with me like he would normally do with a rogue or be gentle because of the pups. I let out another growl in hopes of getting him to leave but he just stands there analyzing the situation. His eyes start to phase over and I can tell he's minklinking someone I look away when I hear a quiet whine. I looked at the pups to see it was Keira who woke up and just gently nudged her back to sleep. When she is good again, I look back at the wolf to see him just staring at my pups.

I look away from the wolf when I hear another wolf approaching. When he sees me, he just stares at me for a moment before growling "mine." I immediately just look at him and I can tell he's an alpha. I try to take a deep breath in hopes of calming down but all I smell is his intoxicating scent.
"He smells so good" I hear Mira drooling
"Like citrus and rain" I reply

He takes a step towards me and I just stare at him, not doing anything. As he starts to walk towards me I tense up but still don't do anything. When he is finally standing next to me, his nose goes to my pups and I let out a soft growl, warning him not to do anything. He comes and lays behind me so his body is wrapped around mine. As his warm body indulges me I allow my body to relax.

We both just sit together for a few moments before he gets up and goes behind a tree to shift I presume. When he comes from the tree he is wearing a pair of shorts and I'm left drooling over his heavily tattooed muscled body. "Shift my little mate" he says holding out a shirt. I hesitate looking back at my pups, "I will watch them while you shift" he says as if he can read my mind or something. I made sure my pups were good and asleep one more time before reluctantly agreeing and taking the shirt behind a tree. I hear them talking quietly and I assume he is telling his friend to leave.

After I put on the shirt, I hesitantly scamper out from the trees. I look around for my pups and let out a growl when I don't see them, "where are my pups?" I growl. "Hey, hey calm down, I had my beta take them back to the pack house so that when they shift back they have cloths." My mate replies. I just let out a soft "hmmm" while carefully watching him. "My name is Jax, what's yours little mate?"
"Jax what a handsome name" I hear my wolf drool
"My name is Nora" I say softly, "Nora" he says testing out how it sounds. "Jax I don't feel very well" my eyesight starts to do black and my head feels faint. "Nora Nora NORA, what happened" Jax asks in fear. The next thing I know I feel myself falling and passing out.
