Wanda

Wanda sighed a deep sigh and looked down. In her right hand held the thumb drive that Steve Rogers had given her and in her left hand was the second thumb drive. She felt the slightest bit of guilt but on the other hand she didn't want to get blamed for the Avengers knowing Hydra's secrets. When Steve walked over to her she just simply lifted the thumb drive out of his pocket. Hopefully he wouldn't notice otherwise he may not feel the same way about her. But why did she care if he trusted her anyway. He couldn't possibly trust her fully but she probably destroyed any chance at him trusting her. But why did she care? It's not like she needed his approval or trust. She was loyal, loyal to one organization only; Hydra. Not Captain America and certainly not the Avengers. Pietro's hand waving in front of her face snapped her out of her thoughts. "Yes?" she asked assuming he was asking a question. "I was wondering if you were ok, you kept staring at the wall." Pietro nudged her shoulder. "I'm fine just thinking." she replied. Wanda got up from where she was sitting and peered out the door. The sound of the base filled her ears. Soldiers with heavy boots walking along the halls, computer keyboards tapping, doors opening and closing, pens writing on pieces of paper attached to clipboards, and men talking were a few of the sounds that could be heard. Wanda sighed and walked out the door Pietro followed her this time he didn't ask any questions.

Wanda kept walking until she reached the main entrance of the Hydra base. She looked out into the city. The familiar view of scorched buildings, destroyed sidewalks, ash floating in the air made her wince. It made her frown as the memories came back to her. Her expression grew wobbly and tears formed at the corners of her eyes. It was hard to look at something so familiar to her own city. But what made her feel even worse was that her city's pain had been caused by Tony Stark but this city's pain had been caused by Hydra. A tear trickled down her face but Wanda hardly noticed it. She wanted to do the right thing to protect the things she cared about but this didn't seem like the right way to do so. The sour air was something she was so used to it didn't bother her but she felt it hard to breathe regardless. It wasn't because of the air however. More tears dripped down her face but she felt much of a difference. Pietro stood behind her his back against the concrete of the Hydra base. Wanda could tell he saw her but she pretended not to. She fell to her knees and hugged her arms to her chest. She left out soft sobs still using her energy to hide the emotion that wanted to escape. Pietro softly walked over to her and bent down to put his hand on her shoulder. As soon as he touched her the emotion she'd been holding back burst out like a waterfall that had been dammed with sticks. Pietro frowned and wrapped his arms around her body. Wanda turned her body to face his and buried her face in his chest. He squeezed her tighter softly whispering to her. Wanda looked up ever so slightly and realized tears were dripping down his face as well. The two of them stood in the same position holding each other until Wanda's face went dry. She still let out soft whimpers and held onto her brother. Pietro looked down at her and gently grabbed both of her hands in his and slowly lifted her to her feet. Wanda wiped her eyes and looked back at him with a broken expression.

"It's going to be ok," he said to her his voice cracking. Wanda embraced him again, calming herself down. "I- I just don't know if we're doing the right thing. I- It's just s- so hard." Wanda mumbled her words barely audible. Pietro brushed her hair out her face with his hand and looked at her with a gentle smile. "Everything will work out in the end, I promise you that." he replied, his voice holding back his sadness. Wanda nodded but didn't say anything. It was the silence that calmed them both. Pietro sat down on the edge of the base and Wanda sat next to him. The two of them looked at each other but said nothing. The sun had begun to go down now and the sunset was the only thing visible past the city. Wanda got up first. She squinted her eyes looking towards one of the destroyed buildings. Pietro got up too and tried to see what she was looking at. Wanda narrowed her eyes and her expression changed. "What's wrong?" Pietro asked her. "That man- he's..." Wanda didn't finish her sentence as she started walking away from the base. Pietro turned his head to look at him better. Wanda seemed to smile when the man had come into better view. Pietro looked at her and he seemed surprised that she perked up so instantly until he realized who they were looking at. About a mile from the Hydra base was none other than Mr. Tony Stark. Wanda almost laughed, her eyes flashed red and her hands grew hot. Tony Stark didn't seem to notice either of them.
