A beam of light landed upon the Eurasia crash site, with X coming into view. He shuddered slighty as his optics examined the wreckage around him, feeling the remaining traces of the virus still lingering in this place.

"You said you detected an anomaly here?" X asked, activating his comms.

"Of course" Alia replied, examining her datapad. "I've been getting strange readings of data there for a while. At first I thought I had found readings on Sigma, until I remembered what you and Zero told me"

"So you're saying that there might be a survivor from the colony?" X was a little surprised this time, and perhaps a little hopeful if his guess was right.

"That's... highly unlikely, unfortunately..." Alia could practically see the maverick hunter's shoulder droop slightly when she said that. Her datapad then detected the strange anomaly again, this time, its signature suddenly began to spike. "X! The anomaly's signature is suddenly rising in an alarming rate! What's going on!?"

"Which way is it?"

"It's located further east from where you are, and... X?"

"Yeah?" Either something was wrong with his comms or someone was sabotaging their communications link, Alia didn't respond. But eventually , he did hear her voice through the comms again:

"Just... come back safe and sound... alright?"

X couldn't help but let out a small smile at her concern, "roger that" he replied, "initiating max armor: hyper mode"

The maverick hunter's body began to emit a faint glow, its features and shape beginning to undergo drastic changes: a V-shaped fin began to form on his helmet, just underneath the large, red gem. Shoulder guards were connected to a new chestplate, with a large green core placed in the center. His leg parts were noticeably bigger and had developed knee guards, while his buster became more intricate and had a box-like barrel at the end. At first, his armor was mixed with four different colors, before a golden sheen eventually took over.

With so much as a second thought, X darted off to the direction of the energy signature, where he began to vault over, slid under, and swerved around the debris of the Eurasia crash site. As he got closer, he could feel the winds ripping past him due to large amounts of energy being discharged. Upon landing on top of one of the larger debris, the maverick hunter came across the source of the discharge, and it was rather... bizarre to say the least...

A large sphere composed of energy flashed in the colors of violet and blue, levitating mere centimeters away from the ground. Jumping off of the debris he was on, X took hesitant steps towards sphere, before the static coming from his comms abruptly stopped him:

"X -at is -hat?" Alia's voice could be heard from the other end, though it was choppy. Though it seemed as if the sphere's energy was affecting the comms somehow, he knew what Alia was trying to ask of him.

"Not sure" he replied back, hoping that the static didn't affect his message too severely. The large sphere suddenly began to slowly fade into obscurity, and instead, something else took its place...

Meanwhile

Within the control room of the Maverick Hunter HQ, Alia was busy studying the strange anomaly she discovered earlier, trying to make sense of what it was. She watched as the anomaly's energy spike slowly calmed down in her datapad, her puzzled expression now mixed with surprise as she noticed something was off.

A glitch in the system, perhaps? Or was someone sabotaging their systems instead? She didn't know, but what she did know was that whatever she saw wasn't right at all.
