Ruby Brooks has been through what seems like hell. Growing up with a single mom, abusive ex, and a passion for music, Ruby never realized how much relief was needed in her life, until she met Jasper Hale.
AN: This is my first book I am actually attempting, there will be topics of anxiety, depression, panic attacks, sexual assault/r*pe, along with possible self harm thoughts/actions, swearing, and possibly other stuff. I will most likely write based on my emotions a bit, I really like writing so I figured to give a book a shot. Growing up in the small town of Forks is annoying in its own right, between no privacy and everyone judging your every move, its hard to be invisible. Unless your name is Ruby Brooks. See everybody in town knows the infamous Justine Brooks, the owner of the best coffee shop in all of Forks. To most people Ruby is just "Justine's shy kid" or "the weird quiet kid who would rather sit alone in the library then go to any social event".
At school Ruby is almost invisible to everyone, except for Jasper Hale who watches from a distance, knowing his mate is so close but too scared of hurting her to ever act on it. Her only friend is Angela Weber, who has been her best friend since kindergarten, where Angela gave Ruby her last pack of fruit snacks when she found out somebody stole Rubys animal crackers. Ruby tends to keep to herself, avoiding talking to others unless she absolutely has to. Until Bella swan moves to town, and changes the whole dynamic of not only the school, but the Cullen Family as well.
Finding out about the Chiefs daughter moving to town, was like a fuse was lit and the towns gossip chain started back up. Ruby hates gossip, she thinks its unnecessary and privacy invading, of course she didnt mind it until everyone knew when her and her abusive ex-boyfriend Ryan Miller broke up and he told everyone she was crazy and rude.
Even just pulling into the forks high school parking lot that day, Ruby had a bad feeling, like everything in her life was going to change. She parked in her usual spot, in the far corner of the parking lot, the only other people in the row of parking spaces being the Cullens. Ruby has never really minded the Cullens, she thought they were beautiful and treated poorly just for existing.
Parking her black, toyota corolla, and taking some deep breaths and prepare for the gossip and all the crowded hallways she had to endure, she grabbed her bag and got out of the car, instantly making her way to her her first class of the day, which happens to be Biology.
