"Yo! L/N, did you hear?!" your co-worker Mai said appearing beside you out of nowhere making you yelp.
"Jeez! Warn a girl!" you exclaim placing a hand over your heart.
"Hehe, sorry.." Mai sheepishly laughs while rubbing the back of their neck.
"Anyhow, I gotta stack this shelf or boss will have my neck" you said picking up a box and walking to the shelf with Mai following "Now tell me what was so important you had to give me heart failure"
"Well word on the street is pro hero Deku and Pro hero Uravity have split a couple days ago" Mai tells you and you look at her in shock "mhm, anyhow apparently she was seeing Ingenium behind his back and he found out"
"Wow... Poor guy. They were together since they were 19 right? So that's got to be hard seeing as they ended after 5 years" you say with a frown as you open the box of takeaway Katsudon and starting to place them in the fridge one by one.
"Yep, 5 years and apparently it's been going on over a year" Mai said.
"Wow having a detective uncle really gives you alot of inside scoops huh?" you say with a chuckle.
"Especially when their close to hero's" She says in a singsong voice.
"In all honesty I feel sorry for him. He is such a good guy. He helped save us during the war to the point of turning into a vigilante because he knew the LOV were targeting him and wanted to avoid people getting hurt all before leaving UA. He even assist in building Japan back up and creating a programme to help villains to rehabillite and become upstanding citizens. Hence why he is now number 1 at the age of 24. He deserves good things and happiness not this shitty situation." you rant off to Mai.
"Alright you little fan girl calm down" Mai chuckles.
"I'm not a fan girl. I just see hero's like everyone else. Everyone has their talents and stuff. Just cause they got a plastic card to saying hero doesn't mean they aren't human like us working a job and trying to live a life. Only difference is their job allows them to use quirks on the bad people who use their quirks for wrong." you explain.
"This is why I adore you L/N. You are such a rare breed" She says with a giggle.
"Did you just call me a dog or something?" you say looking at her slightly offended.
"Nope I wasn't but seemed to have implied it so I ain't disagreeing" Mai says with a smirk.
"Woof woof bitch" you say rolling your eyes before you two burst into laughter "Anyhow I have finished here. I'm gonna put the box in the dumpster then get on the tills while you do stock check"
"Aye aye captain!" She says with a salute before going to the back.
You chuckle as you flatten the box, put it out in the dumpster and went back in to the till ready for the after school rush.

It was now 7pm and the store was quiet aside from the odd customer that came in. You had another hour before your shift was over and the night worker took over. Mai finished at 5pm so you had been alone for 2 hours. You hated this time because it was the quiet hour of your shift. Basically everything had been done for you and the stuff left to do was only for the night shift. You were sat flicking through your phone seeing the headlines regarding the hero's especially about Deku and Uravity's split which made you frown.
"Are you okay?" you heard a voice say and you yelped a little nearly dropping your phone and look up to see a male with sunglasses, a face mask and hoodie with the hood up "Sorry to scare you"
"No no it's my fault for not paying attention. This hour never really has someone come in" you say with a chuckle as you start to scan and pack his items.
"Still I apologise" he chuckles " So uh you were frowning pretty hard just now. Is something wrong?"
"Oh uh just the media being nosey... I can't stand it sometimes. Their harping on regarding what happened to Deku and Uravity and I think it's not fair especially for Deku" you say not noticing the male stiffen slightly "I'm reading it all and I'm thinking 'he is a human being too y'know. Let the poor man grieve and recover in peace instead of being all up in his buisness'. You get what I'm saying?"
You glance up the male who clears his throat and nods.
"It annoys me to hell. Yes their helping people and its amazing don't get me wrong but their still human beings with feelings and trying to live their life just like us all. Yeah on a society and socially point of view we are on different levels especially regarding quirks but still.. we all feel emotions the same and just want to live even if it's to be achieved the wrong way hence why I understand why villains do what they do but I'm glad to see their getting help they deserve" you say with a sigh then notice the silence and your cheeks go red as you stare at the male in shock "Oh my god I'm soo sorry for rambling I get like that sometimes and I don't mean to do that, I guess that's why my Co worker teases me about being like Deku at times... Oh god I'm still going.. I apolo-"
"Woah calm down" he says with a small chuckle "don't worry I do it to at times. It just means you have a healthy active brain, also it's refreshing to hear someone who thinks like you"
"Oh uh thanks" you say rubbing the back of your neck sheepishly "uh that will be 4,341.36¥"
"Here you go" he says handing you the money and you put the money in handing his change "Thanks for your help uh.."
"Oh uh my name is L/N Y/N" you say with a smile.
"L/N. Thank you for your service" the male says and you can hear the smile in his voice "have a good night"
"You too Sir" you say with a smile and wave as he leaves the store then you mumble to yourself "Dammit I should have got his name"
