It was a great summer's day, the sun shining bright up in the sky and the warm gentle breeze in the air, an amazing start to a new year, I had awoken early for school, bags packed and ready for the long day ahead, by the time I'd gotten to Crescent High it was only 8am. Over the last few years I'd get to school early just so I could enjoy the peace and tranquility of it all, before the crapper of a day began, it would start with the verbal abuse and the spitting of shit in my hair, I'd be ordered around by some of the jocks to do their homework and that was fine, well up until I'd had enough, the last time I said no to one of the jocks I'd gotten my ass handed to me.
But still I'd keep hopeful that each day will be better, as I sat there outside of the old church building, I shut my eyes and fell asleep. I awoke to the sound of the school bell signifying the start of the long day ahead, I quickly grabbed my belongings and hurried off to class, as I ran through the school doors, I bumped into someone I hadn't seen before, I helped her up then apologize and just as I do the second bell rings, alerting that class is about to start, I run off, head to the class room and take my seat at the back of the class. There's a knock on the classroom door, the teacher looks over at the door and smiles softly, "class, this is Amy she'll be joining our class from now on, please make her feel welcome".
Amy quietly takes her seat, I'm shocked, She chose the seat in front of me... as I sit there dumbstruck, the teacher calls out my name for the answer on the question. The whole class turns around, just as I turn back to reality, I answer the question and everyone turns back in their seats "Mr. Everett, I know how much this class bores you, but please try and pay attention" "yes ma'am" I reply awkwardly, time goes by faster today than usual, because before I knew it, it was first break. As all the students packed up their belongings and made for the door, I stayed I don't know what it was, but for some reason I couldn't move, couldn't speak, I just sat there frozen, Amy turned around puzzled "its Justin right?" I look up, and there standing before me was one of the most beautiful girls I'd ever seen, struggling to catch my breath I answer her "yes ma'am" she moves closer "are you okay..?" not able to speak I just nod smiling softly to reassure her, she smiles back.
"Hey so I'm new around here and I don't know where I'm going, would you be able to show me around" she asks, John walks into the room "unfortunately I think Justin is a little busy, but I'd be more than happy to show you around Amy" John says looking at me with a sinful smirk. I speak up "Uh sure, I'd be more than happy to show you around, but I've got to quickly hand this in to Ms. Gosling, I'll be back in a second" I walk out of the room and head down towards the staff quarters, I almost reach the end of the hall when John pulls me aside "what do you think you're doing Justin? Girls like Amy shouldn't be around losers like you" right when he said that, I wanted to turn around and say "so she should be around losers like you?" but I didn't, instead I keep my mouth shut while he continues "she deserves to be with a guy like me, now give me that", John takes the papers and walks off. I head back to the classroom; Amy looks up and smiles "we good to go?" She looks at me waiting for a response "ready when you are" I reply smiling as I quickly grab my stuff, we walk out of the room and head outside.
