Time flies so fast and I didn't expect that this day will come. Shone and I are more than best friends. There's a connection between us that only the two of us can tell but we are both not brave enough to say that out.

We are inseparable but I guess things will not just go our way. Hindi pwede na magkasama kami parehas. Maybe the upper gave us a favor or maybe it was a challenge for both of us.

"I am leaving for the states."

Shone is leaving for the states.

Biglaan. Sobrang biglaan. Parang pagkapanalo sa lotto, hindi mo talaga aasahan.

"For a vacation?" I asked. Alam kong hindi. Paanong bakasyon kung nagsisimula na ang skwela?

"We won't stay there for good." Doon lang lumuwag ang paghinga ko. I didn't know that I was holding on to it for so long, afraid that he might not come back.

"Bakit?" I won't stop him from leaving; as if I have the strength to do. I just want to know the reason because it was too sudden.

Ilang minutong naghari sa pagitan namin ang katahimikan. Ilang beses siyang napalunok. He was playing with his hands. Ilang beses din siyang lumulunok. He was distracting himself.

"It was my sister's 10th death anniversary."

Those were just seven words that contain twelve syllables and yet the sadness and longing were seeking out no matter how hard he hides it.

I blinked more than the blink I should be doing. Hindi ko alam kung anong nangyari dahil biglang nanginig ang mga kamay ko.

"What?" Hindi makapaniwalang tanong ko. But I saw Selia. She was alive and well. May isa pa ba siyang kapatid? But I never saw any at their house.

"She was seven when we lost her."

Shone's POV

If people will ask me what is the most important thing that I love and cannot let go of right now, I would answer Figure Skating real fast without even blinking.

"Next to skate. Representing the Republic of the Philippines, Shone Pachero."

Although with fast heart beating of my heart, I removed my jacket, leaving me with the long sleeve that my mom bought for this competition.

Someone believes that I can do this. My family got my back no matter what the results are but I will never disappoint them...

Eventually I did.

Almost every single person in our family turned their back on me.

My little sister was missing.

The competition was finally done and I brought the gold medal with the honour of our country but we stayed here since my Mom wants us to relax.

But it all turned into a disaster.

She was only seven. Everyone was pointing their fingers on me. They said it was my fault. If I never figure skate, she would not dare to try it.

On a chilly day in the United States, sleeping until the sun fully rises because I am not feeling well was an uncertain thing for me to do. I always get up early to practice because the lake near us was a perfect spot.

That day, they thought that Shailen was with me the whole time when I am sleeping in my room peacefully, they let her go.

They only knew that I was not with her when I went down from my room.
