"I did it! I did it!" I walked out of the escape room, proud of what I had done.
"Well done!" My mother hugged me, I hugged her back. I had a grin on my face.
"Can we go home now? I'm tired"
"Sure."
We started walking home. When we arrived home, I went to my room and got changed, coming back out of my room.
"I'm going on a walk!" I called out to my mother as I walked out of the house.
"Stay safe dear!" She said back.
I started my walk, the sun starting to duck under the horizon. The moon started to glisten. It was beautiful. I sighed.
"I love this." I sat down where the moon was in my view, looking up at the moon. I stood up and looked at my surroundings, changing in front of my eyes.
Was it my imagination? Or real?
The scenery turned into a winter wonderland; it was an area covered in snow. It's like I was there, I could feel, hear, and see everything. A mist came upon me as I was trying to figure out what had happened.
"What's this mist?" I looked at it.
The mist grew thicker, eventually not being able to see the other side of it. As I was about to walk away, I started to see an animal.
Its snout was rather pointed. As more of it was becoming visible, its fur, ears, and eyes. I figured out it was an Arctic Fox.
"Oh my-" I loved Foxes, Arctic Foxes more. This was my dream to meet one but, was it friendly? I waited to see what it would do. It came up to me, curious I assume. It sniffed my hand.
I looked down at it, and our eyes met. I sit down as it presses up against me, I slowly put my hand on it. Its fur was so soft, I wish I was a fox or any animal with a tail or ears or wings! It would be so cool!
"Hello buddy" I started to pet it; it sat down beside me as I continued. I felt a connection with this fox like it was my own. Or even a part of me. I opened my eyes to the feeling of something dropping on my face. Snow.
So that whole thing wasn't real? Just my imagination? But it felt so real. And now it's snowing?
"I wish that was real" I sigh and stand up. It doesn't feel right though. I now feel trapped, like I've been engaged in something. But what?
I make my way back home and go to my room, still thinking of what happened.
I found something called a therian. Someone who doesn't identify as a human but as an animal. What if that's me? But how does someone not identify as a human? That's how we're born!
"This all makes no sense!" I put my head down annoyed, remembering what happened.
"I did feel a connection to that fox though, and it's my favorite animal too" I put my head back up and continued researching about them.
"Maybe I am one." I huffed.
"Now what? They're practically furries, so I can't say I am. Can I?" I started searching for the equipment used.
"Masks, tails, ears. I'll get one I guess" I bought some stuff and had to wait a few days, those few days I was doing more research. How they jumped, walked, etc.
'You've got something, Rose!" My mother called out
"YES!" I ran out and grabbed the package, going back into my room and opening it. I bought a tail, mask, and ears for an Artic Fox Therian.
"Finally!" I looked at myself in the mirror.
"I like this" I started to practice my jumps and get used to walking around.
"These hurts, Ima go onto the grass" I got up and went out
"Going on a walk mum!"
"Ok, dear! Stay safe!"
I continued walking. I started practicing more when I got away from the house and in the trees a bit. It felt so right, the snow as I pushed off the ground, the feeling in the air. I loved it. I wish I was an Arctic fox, running on the snow, playing with other foxes. I now know why I felt trapped. It's not my surroundings, it's my soul.
I did it. I found my true self. I am a therian, an Arctic Fox. Not a human.
