Tom found himself in what looked like a cave, he could even feel the moist in his nostrils, as he walked the scenery began to materialise, a long hall with huge snake heads that flanked it. He recognized it, it was Salazar's chamber. When he looked at his reflexion he knitted his brows for he did not recognize who it was. It was not himself as a teen or as the creature he had become. What the water reflected to him was a man, not too old, dark hair just above the shoulders, grey eyes, and a sharp jaw line. When he looked at his hands he saw a familiar ring. He noticed his clothes resembled medieval court clothes, a dark green embroidered tunic with a black leather belt, black riding leather trousers and boots. It was too detailed to be just a dream.
"Salazar" he heard a feminine voice surge behind him, it did not startle him.
His mouth moved and the man whose body he was in spoke, but Tom was just an inside spectator. A curious, observant one.
"Aelin"
The witch appeared in front of him in a deep purple gown, her hair long until her waist, she had on a citrine yellow locket that matched her eyes, a locket that had a serpentine S inside, visible through the gem stone. Salazar smiled at the sight of her wearing it.
"What do you think, my lady" he spoke as he lifted his arms in the air, presenting the place to her.
"A master piece, my love"
Aelin approached Salazar, carefully touching his face.
"Now if they ever dare erase me from history books, this chamber will be proof that I too founded this school" Salazar's voice began to deepen, sadness showing through it.
"They will do no such thing... they might, however, portray you as evil...it often happens when you are gifted with greatness, like my father"
Salazar pulled her close, his large hands on her waist.
"Aelin Wyllt, Merlin's daughter and she is mine" he admired her "...Godric is making their minds about me because you chose me"
Aeling smiled, "or Rowena" she suggested, " or both"
"But Helga is our friend, she will not let them slender your name like that, she knows us" she finished.
Aelin pulled an object out of a small sachet that hung on the golden rope belt of her gown, placing it on his hand.
"A present... it was quite difficult to find"
"What is it?"
"A basilisk egg... a beast to guard your work"
Salazar looked at the dark green egg in his hand, his eyes shining with the idea of someone protecting the chamber from being destroyed, protecting his legacy.
