hi guys<3
It was a sweltering summer afternoon, and I was perched high up in the oak tree in my front yard.
I was terribly bored... I missed my friends, and my comfy bed in the Gryffindor common room, and I especially missed Harry.
We had gotten close this past school year, and often went on sweet dates to Hogsmeade together.
He had kissed me behind one of the columns at station 9-3/4. I hadn't seen him since.
I had written him letter after letter, to no response.
Ron, Hermione and I had been in contact, though, and they both assured me that his aunt and uncle were very strict about him being in contact with his friends from 'wizard school'.
Nothing was wrong. He wasn't mad. Everything was fine.
I was awaiting a visit from Ginny Weasley. She had invited me to go to the Quidditch World Cup with her and her family, and I was so excited.
It had taken a lot of convincing of my parents to let me sleep away for so long, but just yesterday I had sent Ginny a letter letting her know that I was coming.
She had hinted that Harry might be coming too. But considering how strict his aunt and uncle were, my hopes weren't too high.
-time skip to a few days later-
I woke up bright and early to the smell of Mrs. Weasley grilling bacon in the kitchen downstairs.
"Ginny! He's coming today!" I whispered, shaking her shoulder lightly.
"Whatever." She groaned, turning on her side.
I got up from our shared bed, and went over to where Hermione was sleeping on a mattress on the floor. She looked terribly comfortable under her multicolored quilt, and I almost didn't want to wake her up.
"'Mione! Hermione..." I whispered, brushing my fingers under her nose.
She reached up sleepily and batted at my hand.
"Y/n?" she opened one eye, and smiled up at me tiredly.
"Let's get up! Today is the day!"
"I don't see why you have to wake me up," she groaned, sitting up slowly. "He's your boyfriend."
I blushed. "He isn't my boyfriend. Yet. Plus, you think I haven't noticed you and Ron's sly little looks? Perhaps today he'll become your boyfriend!"
She swatted at me, and I laughed, rolling back on my heels and standing up.
"I'm hungry. I'm heading down!"
"Morning Mr. Weasley, Mrs. Weasley!" I said, earning a nod from Mr. Weasley as I walked into the kitchen.
"Morning, dear! Mr. Weasley is just about to go and fetch Harry from his aunt and uncle's house. Would you like to go with?"
Bless Mrs. Weasley.
"I would! Is that alright with you Mr. Weasley?"
Ron, Fred and George ended up coming a long as well. The Floo trip was nauseating as always, and we ended up getting stuck in the chimmney.
Mr. Weasley blew it up, throughout the yelling and shrieking of Harry's Muggle relatives.
"Is he in there?" Ron asked.
"Harry? Hello?" I called.
"Y/n, hush up. I'm trying to focus." Mr. Weasley scolded.
"Sorry!"
"Y/n? Hello?"
"Harry!" I cried, butterflies immediately swirling around in my stomach.
Mr. Weasley whipped out his wand, tapped a few bricks, and the chimmeny nearly collapsed on top of us, imploding and spilling us out into the Dursley's living room.
I stood, shaking off the plaster.
I made awkward eye contact with Harry's aunt, and his uncle, before meeting his gaze.
"Hi." I grinned.
GUYS THIS IS LOWKEY CRINGE. but. I kinda wanted to write like from a younger prespective? Like, if any of you remember when you had a crush from someone, at twelve years of age and all you could do is think about them and get nervous and sweaty and whatever? I was sorta trying to encompass that, but also in the style of my writing. Hope y'all enjoyed!
Might do a part two if you guys want!
Love,
-Luna
