Twisted Truth

My eyes fluttered shut.

I fell and fell into a deep sleep.

I was in dream land,

A magical place, filled with every creature and person, or thing you could imagine.

Everything beautiful and meaningful,

Apple orchards grow strong and powerful,

waterfalls fell into lovely ponds and streams,

everything right, not wrong.

But as I awoke, the orchards grew tangled and turned twisted and polluted,

waterfalls were frozen and ponds and streams all dried up.

Fish, beautiful fish, gulling for air, dying.

Everything was wrong.

Everything dead or dying.

Filthy, scary monsters and things hid in every corner

threatening to jump out at any moment.
