Tony
Tony Stark stood in place, his eyes wide with what could only be described as fear. He had to stand perfectly still to keep his whole body from trembling but even that hardly helped. He was angry that he was this fearful. But who wouldn't be? Tony had nearly died less than an hour ago. He thought it silly that he almost died to that little girl but it was true. The back of his mind told him that he was weak but Tony thought better. Despite her size and her age that girl wasn't to be taken lightly Tony realized that the first time he came across her. It was in Strucker's Hydra base however she didn't physically harm him up until now. Tony was in pain but his pain was numbed by the fear and adrenaline he still felt. A drop of blood falling off his cheek broke him out of his trance. After the 'fight' if you could even call it that since Tony was just defending himself. The twins ran back to the base like they always did when things got tough. But Tony couldn't say much considering the Avengers did the same thing if they were on the losing end.
Tony stumbled past the two enhanced as he tried to get as far away from the girl as possible. Even if she was unconscious he didn't care. The boy seemed shocked as he took a moment to process what happened. He glared at Captain America but didn't say anything. Instead he ran to his sister's side and cradled her unconscious body in his arms. Tony turned to look at Steve who for some unknown reason had a hint of guilt in his eyes. Natasha, Bruce, and Clint didn't say anything either. All three of them were still trying to process the whole ordeal. "Are you ok?" Steve turned to whisper to Tony. Tony glared at him "Does it look like I'm ok?" he hissed. He was still angry that he had followed Steve all the way out here and yet he somehow made it back to the others. Steve frowned but said nothing else. "How the hell did you get out of that base anyway?!" Tony said loudly. Steve seemed uncomfortable at the question. "Her. She helped me escape." he finally responded pointing to Wanda's unconscious body. Tony was surprised and angry at the same time. "You trusted her?!" he snapped. "I-" Steve was going to say something but Tony didn't care. "You trusted her, the enemy that caused us and the rest of the world all this misery?!" he yelled. "Tony they might not be as bad as you think..." Steve replied, gesturing to the twins. "You actually feel this way?" Bruce spoke up this time. "I do." Steve frowned. Bruce stepped back his expression wide with shock. "Listen I know you don't trust them but I think there's a reason that they're doing this." Steve stood firm with his response. His reply made Tony even more angry.
"I trusted you Steve and you trusted them. I don't know how much more I can trust even you..." Tony shook his head. Steve sighed "I don't trust them all I said was maybe they aren't just villains." he replied. "Changing your wording now?" Tony hissed. "She tried to kill me!" Tony shouted. "Like you're innocent." Pietro piped up from in front of them. "I forgot you two were still here." Tony gritted his teeth. "Tony, please just calm down." Steve sighed. "Calm down?! After I was just murdered! Steve, I don't think you know the difference between good and bad." Tony spat. "You do realize that they might be bad now but they could change." Steve stated. "Continue to vouch for them Steve I'm going to make an actual plan to take down Hydra. We're not here to make friends Steve." Tony grumbled beginning to walk away. He was incredibly angry that his friend, maybe even his best friend would betray him like this. What did he see in those kids anyway? Tony turned back to see the two enhanced still on the ground. A small pool of blood slowly dripped from the girl's head. Pietro glared at Tony as he was leaving before lifting up his sister and running back towards the base. Tony scoffed but continued on his path.
That was the point of his life Tony Stark was currently at. It was ridiculous to trust someone that would betray you in a heartbeat. Tony knew that those two children didn't care about what happened to the Avengers, they were selfish and only cared about themselves. Even if the Avengers made the mistake of trusting them they would betray them if it meant helping themselves and Tony knew it. "Tony, wait!" he heard Steve call but he didn't look back. Clint caught up to him first considering Tony couldn't walk very fast in his current state. "Tony I know Steve might seem crazy but he's gotten closer than any of us to actually infiltrating the Hydra base. I think we should give his plans a chance." Clint sighed. "Do the rest of you think this too?" Tony hissed, turning to face Natasha and Bruce. Natasha fiddled with her hands "Look Tony, Steve is our friend and whether he has crazy, dumb, and stupid ideas sometimes they work out." she smiled the slightest bit. Bruce hesitated for a moment "It's not like Steve is forcing us to trust those two we just have to listen to him for this plan to work. You're right about one thing Tony, the two enhanced are untrustworthy especially given what we know about them. But we shouldn't turn on our friends." he finished. Tony was skeptical. As much as he wanted to trust his friend's words he also didn't believe it. If he were to trust Steve and follow his plan chances are they would run into those kids at one point.
