Rosaline's POV:

Everoak academy probably has the worst reputation in all of America. And right now, I'm about to enter this place.

Well, this is going to be great, isn't it? I'm definitely not terrified. (That was 100% not a lie.)

But I don't really have a choice, do I? It was more than $140 for all this (uncomfortable) uniform, and this place is the closest school in the area- and I'm not planning on walking for more than six hours to go to school.

So, I take a deep breath and force my foot onto the first step. Then the second. Then the third. The tap, tap, tap of my feet seems to get louder every second.

Oh God.

Is that sweat on my face?

Oh no, I hope my mascara isn't smudged.

Why does there have to be a huge entrance assembly for new students?

Please tell me the students are nice...

By the time I reach the top of the staircase, it feels like I've aged 40 years.

The school feels like a castle as I stand here.  And I feel like a peasant scrambling to the king... oh no, oh no, my heart rate goes from 0 to 60 as I see a tall, dark figure walking towards me.

"Oi!"

I almost jump 50 feet into the air.  "H-huh?!"

The figure lets out a groan as- he- steps out the shadows, to reveal a dark haired man with a sharp, and very annoyed face.

"Who knew the new student was actually a..." He glances at my (definitely) smudged mascara, "human panda."

"That was quite offensive," I mumble.  Great.  So much for 'I hope the people are nice here.'

"If that was offensive, then you'll be dead after one day here." He lets out a wry chuckle, and gestures for me to follow.

Well, if I was scared before, then I am twenty times more scared now.

I face the floor like my life depends on it, and I follow the guy a good six feet behind him.  My hands tremble, my whole body trembles... it's like I'm walking towards the guillotine.

And then we arrive at the door to my doom.

"Well, ladies first."  The guy gestures towards the door with a smirk, and steps back.

This can't be happening- I rack my brain to think of anything to delay the moment, "U-umm, what's your name?"

The guy looks at me like I'm an idiot.  Well, that was kind.

"And what has that got to do with anything?"

"U-umm, it's important information."  I say, instantly regretting ever opening my mouth.

He sighs, before saying, "I'm Vincent.  Now go."

And he opens the door himself, and pushes me inside.
