I head out for my morning run, Hyunwoo trailing behind me, his cream colored wolf trotting after me calmly. We start off with a slow pace, more of a jog than a run, but soon I'm picking up my speed. Hyunwoo follows closely behind me, easily able to keep up with me. This time I'm expecting it when I smell Yoongi and I don't let him distract me.

'We're going to stop for a minute. I'm not going to do anything. I just want to feel him out.'

'Okay.'

I slowly come to a stop, circling a few times while I wait for my mate to catch up to where we are. I sniff the air to figure out how far he is, but I also get a whiff of blood, animal blood. 'Hyunwoo, do you smell that?'

'Yeah. Smells like deer.'

I follow the scent a few more feet and find a fresh deer kill, it's jugular ripped out. As I nose at it my mate comes to a stop on his side of the border and gives me a wolfish grin. He nods towards the deer and I glance at Hyunwoo 'who patrolled this border last night?'

'Chanyeol.'

'Remind me to kick his ass later. I'm opening my link to him.' I nod at Yoongi

'Okay.'

I open my mental link up and it seems Yoongi was waiting for me to do so 'A peace offering.' His deep voice sounds in my head, my wolf purrs internally at the sound.

'How did you get past my patrol.'

'He let me. It was clear what I was doing and he said he wasn't going to stand in the way of mates.'

I stare at my mate and he sits down, nodding at the deer again 'Take it please. I would hate for that kill to be wasted.'

'And what happens if I don't?'

'I'll take it back to my pack, but I'm going to keep trying with you.'

'And what makes you think I want that? Our packs are rivals and I dont trust your brother.'

'Well you haven't rejected it. I don't trust my brother either. I'd leave but that would be frowned upon as I am the next in line since Geumjae's pups are too young to have presented yet.'

'You realize I don't trust you either right?'

'I do. I'm hoping to change that though. No tricks I promise.' This time my mate lays down, I think he believes we'll be here for awhile.

'I'll take the deer. But only because it means more food for my pack. I'm not sure how you plan to prove yourself to me, but it's going to take quite a bit.'

'I'm a patient man.' He chuckles a little and my wolf purrs again.

'Well I need to finish this run and then I have things to take care of.' I close off the link before he get in a single word and I look at Hyunwoo and then to the deer.

He was listening in and knows what I want, I lay down as he shifts back and he lifts the deer onto my back before climbing on. I head straight back for the compound, knowing my little talk with Yoongi took too long. I let Hyunwoo down and he takes the deer to be butchered.

Chanyeol steps out from the back door of the house and I growl at him. He holds his hands up in surrender "I'm not going to interfere. He needs to prove himself, I'm going to let him. I didn't take my eyes off him the entire time he was on our land. And he was here for less than five minutes. The deer was from his land."

My growl continues, a low rumble in my chest. Chanyeol rolls his eyes "We can duke it out later, Jisung is in your office."

I shift back, still glaring at Chanyeol "You're lucky I like you and your father or I would beat your ass for that."
