MERMAN AU

"I really like your hair," Seokjin suddenly whispered, a while after Namjoon had been swimming towards home while carrying him. "It's gorgeous."
Namjoon looked at the Prince, who reached out to brush a single long lock of indigo hair out of his handsome face. He felt heat rise to his face at the simple action, having never had anyone to compliment or praise him in a very long time..
"Thank you, but your hair is way more gorgeous," he whispered to the blue-eyed merman. "It looks so soft. Why didn't you grow it?"
"I tried but it was annoying and kept hiding my handsome face," Seokjin answered with a huff, twirling Namjoon's silky hair around his finger and playing with it.
Namjoon smiled at his comment but said nothing. He'd heard that the Prince was quite narcissistic, and the way he'd curled up to his chest, the blue-haired was sure that he was used to being taken care of, and was thus easily shaken by the sudden twist of events, whatever happened.
"We're close," Namjoon said at last, noticing something several yards away.
Seokjin looked up from the comfort of Namjoon's arms and gasped in awe when he saw an old wrecked ship stuck to the seabed a few yards away from them, looking like a huge boulder in the middle of the nearly empty place. However as they got close, Seokjin noticed a little garden grown outside the ship.
"I'm quite disastrous so my friend grew the garden for me," Namjoon explained, noticing Seokjin's eyes on the little patch of rocks, corals, aquatic plants and shells.
"It's pretty," Seokjin remarked, eyes roaming around the place. "This place looks wayyy better than the one I live in."
"Better than the huge palace?" Namjoon asked. He couldn't understand how someone who'd lived such a comfortable life with food and security all the time liked his lonely lifestyle better.
"Yeah," Seokjin nodded enthusiastically, beaming sweetly at him. "It was sooooo extravagant back there. I've always wanted to live in a simple but beautiful place."
"Is that why you left?" Namjoon asked carefully, not wanting to ruin Seokjin's current bright mood. He didn't want to see him cry ever again, because he found it painful for his own heart, strangely.
"Partially," Jin sighed, still looking around and then fixing his gaze on the name of the ship carved on the body with pure gold: 'Persona'.
It still shone and seemed to emit a bright light, quite unlike the otherwise dark ship. He also noticed a deep and large crack at one bottom corner of the ship, which was probably it's cause to sink.
"I'm sorry about whatever happened to you back there," Namjoon said gently, looking at the scratches, cuts and wounds on the other's beautiful shoulders and tail. "You don't really deserve it."
"It's fine," Seokjin said with a convincing smile, deep blue eyes staring into bright yellow ones. "Something tells me I'll be okay now... with you, though I hardly know you. You strangely make me feel safe."
