The world isn't really a safe place
Especially in brooklyn where I liv
I can't even go outside
I'd probably get kidnapped or killed or sum other crazy shit
I usually just stay in my room
My mom left to live with her parents a while after I was born
So it's just me and my dad
But he's never really home
I see him every once and a while but it's good
I was getting ready to go to school and someone knocked at my door
I went over to the door and checked the peephole
I saw someone familiar
I opened the door and it was my best friend
"Y/n are you ready...we're supposed to get miles too" my friend Jazmine said
She lives in the same complex as me and miles
I slid my shoes on and grabbed my bag
"Yeah I've been ready I dunno what you talkin bout" I shrugged
"Hoe u didnt even have yo shoes on-"
"Didnt your cat get pregnant 3 times?...oh okay..cuz I ain't a hoe"
She laughed and we reached his door
We knocked and a tall bald lightskin dude answered
"Hey is miles ready?" I smiled up at his uncle
"I'll go get him y/n" he gave a small smile and walked away leaving the door cracked a little
I saw his (fine ass) mom in the background then eventually he came to the door
"See ya later miles!"
"Bye" he said quickly closing the door
"Hey y/n" he smiled at me
"I'm here too?" Jazmine said
"I don't care"
"That's why u don't pull no bitches"
"Yet I pulled ur mom and ur best friend..and ur brother"
"Damn-" then I realized I'm her best friend

They kept arguing but I just went on my phone
Even though I was in the middle of them and they were loud
I yawned
I shouldn't have stayed up late
We made it to school
I had my first period with miles
And I sat next to him
I was putting my stuff in my locker when miles leaned against it waiting for me
"God you're so slow" he mumbled once I got up with my books
"You're just fast?" I said then he grabbed my books and carried them
He did this a lot
I told him to stop but he doesn't listen
"Yo miles u tryna skip first period?" Someone asked
"Ion know why you asking..y/ns in that period hell die if he misses it"
He rolled his eyes and kept walking
I've liked miles for years and I think he likes me back
But he hasn't asked
We got to class and he sat in his seat
I sat in mine and grabbed my books
Class started pretty fast
But it was a calmer day
I was writing a few notes when a note got passed to me
It wasn't from miles though
I looked around awkwardly and the girl infront of me pointed to the boy who swears he's funny
Like swears on his life he's the funniest person ever
I opened the note

Then the bell rung
Everyone moved so fast
I packed all my stuff up
Next I had it with my best friend
