Yuanfen, a Chinese word meaning "fateful coincidence", is a saying how two people in between are destined to be together, no matter what. And here, in the middle of the park, is where a couple found their yuanfen 4 years ago.
Juno happily dragged micah into the park. It was dark, past midnight even, the sky was like a reflection of the city lights. It was Juno and Micah's 4th anniversary, on this very fateful day, the two found each other at their lowest.
"Cmon! I have something to show you! ", Juno smiled as he talked to Micah. Both of them were at an empty park, not a sound heard in the distant area. They walked until Micah gasped, in front of her eyes was an exact replica of their first date, a picnic near the pond, under a tree.
As they sat down on the picnic sheet, Juno broke the silence,"I never thought that this day would come so quickly.. " He smiled bashfully as he looked into the pond, the water flowing as the wavy lights of buildings shined on the surface.
Juno got up and kneeled down in front of Micah,"I think it's the time that.. I ask you to be mine for all my days. " His smile was soft as he looked away shyly. "I'll admit, I'm actually quite scared right now, but if I don't take the risk now, I'll never be able to. "
Micah was flustered,"I.. I don't know what to say Juno... I-" Juno quickly held her hand.
"Maybe we can try.. " He brought her hand up "if you let me, take you by the hand.. ", He quickly kisses the palm of Micah's hand, "You're the only one who understands. "
As he puts a ring onto Micah's finger, fireworks shot up in the sky, multiple colors popping in the dark airspace above them. They were forever tied together by a fateful coincidence.
