"ALRIGHT SO, WE'RE just waiting on one more person and then we can begin, is that okay?" asked the nurse, directing her attention away from the computer in front of you
You were at the same kiddy hospital you were at two days before, just about to start your first day of volunteering- well you were supposed to start a half hour ago, but the person you were supposed to be volunteering with happened to be late
"so uh y/n- it's okay if i call you that right?" you nodded in reply "so y/n, why don't you tell me about yourself while we're waiting"
If only your partner had arrived when you had, then you wouldn't have to sit through this horrible thing known as small talk
"well i-" you had started, but you were cut off by the door being aggressively pushed open and a rough voice mumbling something incoherent
thank jesus
"im here, sorry for being late or whatever" the same voice had said
You looked over your shoulder to see a blonde boy, he stood in the door way with his hands in his pocket, his aura screamed confidence, something you are not yet used to
"that's okay Mr. Bakugo, take your seat- and kill the cigarette" the nurse said
Bakugo complied to both things, killing his cig in the ashtray the nurse put in front of him when he sat down in the chair, why was there an ashtray in the first place?
"so, let's go over a few things shall we?" the nurse asked, taking two files out a draw and opening them both
She looked up at the both of you and smiled, the meeting hadn't even started and everything that she was yet to say was already tiresome

The nurse that held the meeting with you and bakugo had told you both that you would be volunteering together, the blonde was quick to let out a few cusses in disagreement, but that was quickly put to a stop when she had mentioned the fact that he could be put in jail if he didn't complete his volunteering.
She had led you both to a room, apparently it was the room of the two kids that you were going to be helping over the course of the summer. hough when you entered the bright colored room, it was empty.
Marcy (you had learnt earlier that that was her name) had mumbled something about tests and machines and that she would be back shortly, and this time with the kids.
Now, you and bakugo were alone in the room, standing in an awkward silence, you didn't know what to do or say, so you opted for your phone, it seemed as if though bakugo had a similar thought.
When you looked up from your phone for the umpteenth time, you saw that the blonde boy was no longer standing by the crafts table in the corner, but instead he stood by an opened window that he was looking out of, you noticed that he had a cigarette held to his lips.
A soft sigh escaped you, and this had caught his attention, the blonde boy looked at you, a scowl gracing his features as he grunted out a "what"
"smoking's bad for you, you know, it can harm your lungs and seriously affect you" you said, in a matter-of-fact tone of voice. This caused the blonde to smirk
"well, smoking kills, but we were born to die either way" he replied, killing the last of his cig and throwing it out the window, his smirk still evident as he did so
Of course, you were the one to be stuck with the cocky stuck-up.

So, I apologize for this chapter, the last part of it was rushed and I'm sure it's noticeable, enjoy it regardless though, I promise the next one will be better <3
p.s. i innocently changed my user from 'M-MUSHU' to 'S-SHROOMS' in last year because in my Spotify wrapped Spotify told me that I lowkey gave gremlincore and mushrooms were associated with that and then i found out a few months ago that shrooms is a damn drug 😭😭
