Kate's Love Story

Chapter one- First Day Of High School

Kate Stevenson was a twenty seven year old girl in college. Kate was not spoiled because she knew the meaning of value. Even though Kate's life was interesting she felt empty inside. Kate had her car, phone and she did her schoolwork but Kate's story goes a long way back , Kate's Love Story.

Ten Years Earlier

Kate's story begins on her first day of high school. Over the summer Kate felt emptiness inside of her but she just ignored it. Today that feeling was confirmed as she walked down the hall. She felt lonely and useless, like she needed love.
Kate was a loner, she did not like to walk with the crowd. She knew that crowds bring problems so, she stayed away. As Kate walked down the hall she kept hearing the expression 'The King'. She also heard that everyone adored him and that everyone treated him like the gods.
Kate wondered " When Will I get to see this 'King'. Maybe he's cute , maybe he'a smart. I need to find out more about him. But what Kate didn't realize was that the more she stared off into space the later she was for class.
Kate arrived at class ten minutes late and got detention to attend after school. As the day progressed it came to lunch time. Kate went to the cafeteria, picked out a healthy lunch and sat down. As she enjoyed her lunch, she heard a barrage of voices.
Suddenly she saw a bunch of people clammoring to get attention. Kate wondered what was inside that circle. Then she heard a voice shout, "Stop, its time to eat, now make a space." Kate then realized that this could be 'The King '.
The circle slowly opened up and there stood 'The King '. Kate 's eyes stared at him mesmerizingly. She then realized that she was in love then someone standing next to 'The king'said "Hey, Max check out that girl."
Max's eyes pointed to Kate. She quickly turned her head away and started eating her lunch again. Max then took out a book and started to write. As he wrote the name Max echoed through Kate 's head. She also wondered what he was writing.
As Max and his group were walking by they stopped at my table , gave me the paper and walked away giggling. Written on the paper was a poem that said:
Your black hair is as smooth
as your skin. Your eyes are as bright as the stars. Your complexion symbolizes the beauty of the gods.

Your teeth glisten like diamonds. Everything on your face combined sparkles as bright as the summer sun. You only need a little more sparkle to become the biggest John Crow.
P.S. You and I will never be an item.

Even though Kate still wanted Max I felt hurt inside to be told that. So she grabbed her bag and ran to the bathroom. But what I did not know was that two people were following me. As I went into the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror and saw tear drops on my cheeks.

I then saw the people that were following me. It was a boy named Matt and his sister Sonia. They said that everyone at school worships Max except them that's why no one likes them. Also for some reason Matt and Sonia looked different from everyone else at the school .
Matt was light brown, had black hair and had a dark brown spot on the top right side of his forehead. Sonia on the other hand is a blonde, also light brown and had a scar over her left eye. But when I asked them about their cuts they changed the subject of the argument.
I then told Matt and Sonia that my name is Kate Stevenson. Next I asked Matt and Sonia where the detention list was Sonia then asked me why I got detention and I told her it was because I was late for class. So they took Me to the notice board where the detention list was, which read:

Max Robertson
Suzie Jackson
Kate Stevenson

On the notice board I also saw an advertisement for a school dance. When I saw this I thought that Max could be my date to the dance and Sonia could help me to figure out what to wear. She can also do my hair and if Max does not want to go with me I can go with Matt, after all he is kind of cute. I just have to get ready for Saturday night, the night of the dance.
