chapter 1 prom night

"MOM!" I yelled from the top of the stairs. "YES?!" she yelled back. "WHERES THE NAIL DRYER?! I NEED IT!" I yelled back. I heard some books fall. "ITS IN THE CLOSET UNDER THE NEW TOWELS!" She yelled. I heard some more books drop. "OK THANKS! ARE YOU OK DOWN THERE YOUR DROPPING A LOT OF BOOKS!?" I yelled. We have a book store under our actual house. Mom and I both work there. "YES IM FINE!" she yelled. I went to the closet and lifted the towels. There it is. I brought the nail dryer back to my room and set it on my desk. I put my hands in it and waited. When I checked them they were dry. I went over to my cats food dish and filled it. He came running. He sat down and started eating. He was a black cat with an orange heart around his face. His name is demerious. After I fed him I called lyla. It rang a few times and then an answer. "Hello?" It was Alec. "Hey babe can I talk to your sister for a minute?" I asked him. "Yea sure just a second." He said. I heard muffled voices and then she picked up the phone. "Hey Niki! What's up?" She asked. "Not much I just have something to tell you." I said back. See I have been going out with Alec behind her back for a while because she gets over protective even though he is her brother. "OK go ahead I'm listening." I hesitated. "OK well for a while now...Alec and I have been going out and we are going to prom together." I waited for her to kill me through the phone. It was just silence and then she hung up. OK well I'm dead. Thats it she's gonna kill me. Oh well she will be OK by tonight...I hope. I went downstairs to see if my mom had ironed my dress. It was a magenta colour with an emerald in the middle of the chest with a sweetheart neckline. I walked into the living room to ask. "Hey mom is my dres- WHAT HAPPENED!" I looked at my dress and there was a hole burned into the front. "Ya hun we need to go get the spare they have at the store. I accidentally burnt it because the phone rang and I forgot to take the iron off the dress before I left." She said back. "OK well how about you go start the car and I will run and get my shoes. How's that sound!" I said angrily. She went outside and I went upstairs to get my shoes. When I came back down she was waiting in the car. I ran out the door and got in the car. When we got to the store I went up to the counter and asked the woman if she had my spair. She said yes and brought it out for me as my mom paid for it. We left and when I got home I started getting changed considering I only had an hour left to get ready. It took me only 20 minutes to get ready and then Alec came over for pictures. Once we were done lyla and mark came over with Abby and jack our other friends, so we could all wait for the limo my mom rented for us. When it pulled up we got in. We all sat at the windows. Lyla and mark were glaring at us. Lyla wanted to murder me so bad right now. Abby and jack were laughing and joking around so they were distracted. Alec and I were just ignoring them and looking out the window. When we pulled up at the school we could hear the music and see all the lights flashing. As we walked in lyla and mark went in first because they were more popular than Alec and i. Even though we were all the popular kids. Why do you think we rented a limo? Anyways they went in first and then Alec and I and then Abby and jack. As we walked in the only thing I could think about was how magical this night was going to be.
