The day has come for me and my husband to go on our first official dinner date with another couple
We were both pretty nervous to be honest. All morning we have been frantically getting ready in such speed to avoid looking like late lazy people.
We had a few spats over the smallest things but did not take no offense because at the end we wanted the same thing, for everything to go smoothly.
I wore a autumn color dress well, maroon-orange looking, with a matching necklace , while John wore a black formal jacket with matching pants and a soft white shirt with his most adored jewelry.
The restaurant was not that far from us and the drive gave us a lot to think. We told ourselves to be proper, talkative, and the best listeners they could have. We tend to leave out a lot of personal stuff so we would basically only focus on the move and his job if they ask.
Once we get inside we head to the hostess where she directed us into the area where Ruby and her husband sat. John and I gave each other a soft smile and nod to show that the time is now and to enjoy it.
Once we turn the corner we see Ruby sitting facing our direction and they both stand to greet us. When her husband faced us Johns eyes lit wide up as did the man , and they embraced each other in a hug that meets with a friendly handshake. Ruby and I looked at eachother and then back to our spouses with the most confusing look.
It turns out ruby's husband was Oliver , Johns boss! Oh how small this town truly is, all we could do was laugh and take our seats. I sat next to ruby and Infront of John. The whole night dined and drank wine while we talked for hours about this new job we were lucky to get and our welcomes to the neighborhood. We learned alot about Their relationship as well, and what they do.
Ruby and Oliver have been together for 10 years;middle school sweethearts. They got married a couple months into their relationship when they were 19 and 20 years old, no kids due to some issues Oliver endured during his time at war and had multiple pets.
Around 9 the restaurant played lovely music where both of us couples went onto the dance floor. We danced and laughed the night away but i was feeling a bit nauseous so I decided to have a seat. As I was about to sit ruby grabs john by his arm and told him she must have this dance with him because it is customary in her beliefs that it is only right.
Now I am those jealous girls I promise, so I muster up the pride to allow them a dance together because obviously they are both married. Oliver sits with me and sparks a conversation but I could not keep my eyes off them.
He waves his fingers in the face in which I ultimately turn his way and fake a smile with a half truth apology. Im overdoing it I know I am, we are the guests so I shall not worry even in the slightest. I decide to talk with Oliver till the song plays out and then ultimately we are joined again by our loves.
We stayed another hour chatting till we decided it best to be on our way. We thanked both of them in inviting us and we drove back home at around 11:30pm.
We recapped some of the moments we had on our drive and laughed so hard. It felt good being out with friends, I've never had that. Once we got home we both showered together to save up time, we might've gotten a little frisky due to the fact we were still feeling a little tipsy from all the wine and ended up sleeping on the couches with literally nothing on or around us.
Best date night ever !!!
