Both Nagito and Chiaki walk you home after playing games. Since Chiaki was so into the game, there hadn't been time to watch anything. You're rather tired by the time you get to leave Hope's Peak and you're looking forward to going home and plopping down into your warm bed.
Just as you reach your home, however, Chiaki says something that catches you off guard. "I've been thinking...and, well, I just wanted to say...I wish there was a way I could get you to become a member of our class. You feel like one of us now, you know, (y/n)?"
Your eyes widen and you stare at her in stunned silence. Your heart his pounding and Nagito speaks before you can even respond to what the gamer has just said.
"Wow, this is amazing! I've been thinking the same thing for a while now." His eyes are alight with joy. "I'm glad that my class rep also wants (y/n) to be part of our class! It's a relief to know that you ultimates value her just as much as I do."
"Of course." Chiaki is still looking at you. She has a kind smile on her face. "You really do feel like one of us now, you know? I'm not sure if it's possible but I really want you to become one of us. I hope you can somehow."
"I'm sure it's possible! If you ultimates also want her to be a member of our class, I have no doubt in my mind you'll be able to make it happen." Nagito's practically shivering with excitement. "I'll do my best to use my luck to help as well! I want nothing more than to serve as a stepping stone to (y/n)'s hope and future as an ultimate and classmate!"
"What do you think about it?" Chiaki asks you. "Would you like to be a member of our class?"
You assure her that you would absolutely love to be a student alongside them. Your heart feels like it's going to burst out of your chest. With Nagito and Chiaki on your side, you're sure something will come of it. The thought is so good you're swear it's too good to be true. The feeling is almost overwhelming. As you look at the hopeful faces of your two potential future classmates, you can't contain the emotion that's building up in your chest. Smiling, you're unable to prevent a few tears of joy from rolling down your cheeks. You find yourself profusely thanking them. You lurch forward and pull them both into a hug. Your left arm hooks around Nagito's waist, pulling him in, while your right arm loops around Chiaki. After holding them in a gentle embrace, you thank them once more and wipe one of your emotional tears off your face.
"Of course." Chiaki's smile is as genuine as always. "You're our friend."
Nagito nods. "Well, I guess we should do what we can to help her join our class. I'm sure the others will be just as happy to welcome her. After all, they seem to enjoy spending time with her. How about we talk about this as we head back to campus?" He glances at Chiaki.
The gamer girl nods. "That sounds good to me. We should probably get going now...I'm beginning to feel exhausted." She rubs her eyes.
"Ah, of course." Nagito nods to her before turning to you once more. "I'm glad you decided to hang out with me again. I still can't believe anyone would ever want to be friends with someone with me...talented or not. I sincerely hope I can pay you back by helping you attend school among the ultimates who give so much hope to the world. I'll come at my usual time to walk you to school tomorrow morning and I'll let you know what ideas Chiaki and me come up with. Now, goodnight, (y/n)."
"Yeah, goodnight," Chiaki says as she appears to be blinking sleep out of her eyes. She looks like she's about to fall asleep then and there.
You say goodbye to the two of them before heading inside. Your heart is racing and you feel elated. It's hard to believe that you have become so close to Nagito and his friends that they want you to be a member of your class. Now you're beginning to understand why they're ultimates and what makes them so important to Nagito. You know for a fact no normal high school would have students as welcoming as them. No average class would ever be so happy to befriend a new classmate, especially if they were friends with their black sheep classmate. You sure as heck know your classmates currently would never do this. That's why you felt so lonely for so long to begin with. Your new friends...they're more than just normal students. They have hearts of gold!
You've grown fond of all of them during the time you've known them. Their teacher, Chisa, is particularly responsible for bringing them all together to get to know each other better. Chiaki is the heart of the group who continues to hold them together and cultivate a lifelong bond that will no doubt be cherished by each student forever. The other students all contribute to this little family in their own unique way. You have no doubt in your mind that things would not be the same if even one of them weren't around.
For once, you're grateful to the strict and prestigious school and can appreciate it for the mere fact that it has brought this wonderful group of people together. Plus you would have never met Nagito Komaeda without it...
If there's any chance of you attending the school, you're sure Chiaki and Nagito will be able to figure it out. Perhaps those two alone are the smartest members of the class. With their brainpower, you feel at ease that they both are coming up with a plan to get you in. That, mixed with Nagito's luck, gives you a very powerful surge of hope.
