LUKAS'S POV
My friend who I have been living with for 2 years now is moving out of the country. The whole fucking country. So a few weeks ago I went and got my own apartment, in an actually really nice apartment building but I don't officially move in for another week. My landlord gave me the name and number of my new neighbor, Ophelia Booker. So naturally I looked her up on Instagram and found that she is a photographer and is absolutely naturally gorgeous. Which led me to her friend Ivy Castor and found out that she just recently got engaged. Other than Ivy there is no one else on her Instagram no family, no one.
Just barely got my last couple of boxes in when I hear a door open then shut. I come out of my apartment to see what happening and there in front of me is the naturally gorgeous woman I have not so creepily looked up online. But, I must say she looks even better in person . It looks like I caught her just as she was heading out. She out reached one dainty hand with dark purple nail polish and tells me that her name is Ophelia and that I can just call her Lia, or something along the lines of that. But all I can focus on is how to respond, but before I can try to put on my nice face she pulls back her hand and notes, " No hand shakes, got it". Now I just feel like jerk but she just says, "Okay..... Well if you need anything I'm just next door in apartment 513", she then turned and left.
I haven't been able to catch Lia again after that encounter until today I was just getting back from my brother's place when I see her come out of her Volkswagen Jetta. I quickly hop off my bike and make my way to the elevator, when I appear next to her she asks, " Is that your bike?" so I respond, " Yeah did you think I stole it or something?". Her facial expression changes to a lighter kind of smile and it makes my stomach flutter, " Oh! You can talk and here I was thinking you were mute or something!", she kind of giggled, as I winced remembering our first meeting. "Yeah, well I'm not", I rolled my eyes in annoyance, and to that she responded, " Clearly" . We reached our floor and she grabbed her keys walked to her door turned and said, " Have a good night", she rolled her eyes mumbled something and slammed the door. And to that I rolled my eyes and slammed my door too. At least I talked to her this time. That night I lie in bed and think back to the elevator encounter, I then came up with a plan.
