GOGMISTER POV

Another day of walking the same lifeless highway as yesterday. This morning we all slept in and it felt really nice to get some good sleep while cuddled up with Dream in a tent. The tent kept the wind off of us and Dream kept me safe all night.

"Guys!" Tommy gasps loudly. "GUYS!!!"

"What?" Sapnap questions Tommy's sudden excitement.

"LOOK!!! There's- there's smoke!!" The youngest in our group announces loudly, pointing off in the distance. Wait... does that mean there's people there?! I hurry to look the way Tom is pointing and see it, the large gray clouds of smoke.

"Oh my God! We're.... we're gonna make it to civilization! Finally!" Tubbo cheers, jumping up and down.

Sam and Colby high-five. "Yes! I can't wake for a shower," Sam grins.

"Let's fuckin' go!" Sapnap shouts, twirling Karl around in the air.

Ranboo, Wilbur, and Dream all share some bro-hugs with huge smiles adhering their faces. I guess everyone is celebrating but... what if it isn't people? Maybe it's just a fire?

"It only seems to be a couple miles away, it's not too far." Tommy pats my shoulder. "You tired, Gogs?"

"Yeah," I sigh and put a smile on. "But I'd gladly walk a while longer to sleep in a proper bed again."

"Ohhh... You and Dream gonna celebrate?" Tommy wiggles his brows. "Celebrate a certain special way in a bed? Hmmmm?"

"No! No, Idiot." I roll my eyes at the younger, flushing red.

He just smiles bigger. "Sure, George."

"Let's get moving so we can get there before sundown." Karl decides, walking towards the mysterious fire.

"We should be careful upon approach, they might not be too friendly." Sapnap grips his gun at the ready, everyone else with one doing the same. "I hope they're friendly."

"I hope so too but, y'know, just in case." Dream gently grabs my wrist and pulls me next to him. "Stay next to me okay, George?"

"Yeah, I will." I agree since Dream has a gun and I don't. He's a whole lot safer than attempting to just infiltrate the base on my own. "How far is it?"

"Maybe a mile and a half if we take a shortcut. It's best to be prepared now than unprepared too late." Wilbur leads us between buildings and houses for about ten blocks if I was counting correctly. "About a mile ahead."

"I feel like I'm in a militia." Tommy whispers loud enough for us to hear yet not loud enough for it to echo around. "Sorta exciting."

We can now see the place and there are definitely people there. It's scarily fortified with men at the gate holding guns, barbed wire atop the large cement walls, and there's smoke activity coming from inside.

"Let's try to appear friendly so they don't shoot us, we don't want to have to shoot them." Dream instructs, leading us towards the fortified base. "Fuck, I think they see us!"

The men at the gate step forward, guns at the ready. "Come into the clearing!" They order us and we obey, taking the few steps necessary for us to be in the clearing in front of the base.

"Lower your weapons and we'll lower ours." The other guard tries to make a deal with us.

"We won't put them on the ground but we'll lower them." Sapnap reasons and lowers his gun to his side, finger off the trigger. "What is this place?"

"It used to be a military base, we've converted it into a town of our own. We call it Oklahoma since we're the only base of this magnitude in the state. Now, would you like to explain why you're at our gates?" The second man speaks again.
