This had been the hardest week since I've been here at Jujutsu High. Itadori and Fushiguro had been sent on a separate mission, and Kugisaki and I had to take care of a bunch of curses in Minato. It was tedious work, exorcizing curses left and right. But we managed. It was two of us, and we had both gotten very strong during our time at the school.
When we got back from our last mission, we were both immediately sent to Ieiri-san to get patched up. My left arm was almost completely sliced into pieces. One curse had been incredibly fast with its long, sharp nails and had left a lot of deep cuts all over my arm. It was hard for me to move it, so Shoko helped me lift it onto her workstation. She picked up a cotton ball and dipped it into weird liquid.
"This might sting," she warned me before gently dabbing my cuts with it.
I didn't flinch. This pain was nothing to me. I had had far worse. Ieiri didn't comment, and neither did Kugisaki.
"How long do you think it will take to heal?" I asked.
The doctor looked up at me for a moment, then began wrapping my arm in bandages. "Your cursed energy flow is strong. It shouldn't be more than a few days."
I nodded, happy with the answer. Upon her request, I lifted my shirt to reveal my bruised body. Ieiri-san took a sharp breath as if it would hurt her to see this. She rubbed her hands together to warm them, then carefully placed them on my body. That made me flinch a little, so she looked up at me again.
"Does this hurt?"
I nodded again. She kept feeling for something and was quiet for a few minutes. I could see Kugisaki watching her from her chair. She didn't look as bad as I did. My lip was starting to swell up, and I had a few cuts on my face and neck. I had a deep cut across my eyebrow. Before we had come in here, Yuji had said that maybe I would get a cool scar. He wanted me to have a cool scar. I smiled at the thought.
"No wonder," the doctor said and pulled my shirt down again. "Three broken ribs."
I groaned. Great. That meant another few days. Ieiri immediately confirmed it to me. "Maybe five or six days. Bones heal more slowly."
This was the worst! She put some more of that liquid on the cuts on my face and neck and gave me a bottle of ointment to apply every day so it wouldn't leave scars. I took it with a smile, making a mental note to tell Itadori about it. Maybe I wouldn't put the ointment on the cut across my eyebrow so he could have his cool scar.
"What am I supposed to do for six days?" I whined when Kugisaki and I left.
"You could finally get some rest. You need it."
I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "I don't need rest. I need something to do."
"You've had plenty to do this week," she protested. "Don't think I don't know why you look like that, and I look like this."
She gestured at her barely harmed body and her perfect uniform. I only shrugged and kept walking. In the hallway, we ran into Fushiguro. He looked pretty beaten-up, too, but not like me. At least I couldn't spot any bandages on him. He stopped dead in his tracks at the sight of me.
"God, what happened to you?"
"I was only doing my job," I replied.
Kugisaki didn't say anything. I knew that she was mad at me... or worried about me... Either way, she stayed quiet. Fushiguro looked at her for a moment, then back at me.
"When did you get back?" he asked.
"Maybe half an hour ago. We just left Ieiri-san. We were there for quite a while," I said.
