Elvis stopped by Melinda and Brad's house to see Olivia since it had been a hectic four months with his work schedule, he didn't even get the chance to put together a little party the last time he briefly saw Olivia for her one year old birthday. It meant the world to him since she brought an unexpected yet welcoming change to his life and he was kicking himself so much for not being able to celebrate his baby girls special day that had now blown by. He knocked on the wooden door and entered the house at hearing someone from inside telling him he could come into the house, looking around as he did

Olivia was sitting on the floor in the living room playing with some toys that were laying around her, looking over at the six foot tall man who she instantly recognized

"Dada!" She shrieked

"Hey honey, what are you up to?" Elvis slowly approached her, being cautious of his surroundings since there were no lights on in the house. Who had invited him inside? He started to change course for the kitchen at seeing Brad come his way but stopped as his eyes landed on something in his right hand. A gun

"Brad? What are you doing?" Elvis didn't understand his intentions or where his head was at. What he was mostly concerned about was Olivia who was only a few feet away, staring at the two men and no longer interested in her toys at the moment

"I'll make a deal with you. Leave and never come back, you'll never see Olivia again or even try to see her. If you stay away, we'll send some money your way and pretend you don't know Olivia or where she ended up. Got it?"

"I'm afraid I can't do that. She means more to me than money ever will."

"You're a fool, Presley. But an honest one. Say hello to your mother for me." Brad smirked at him before pulling the trigger, Elvis falling to the floor. His breathing became labored and he slowly brought up a hand to his chest where he had been shot, wincing from the amount of pain he was in. Brad took off to go get Melinda since he was sure one of the neighbors heard the gunshot and they needed to get going in order to avoid the police. All while Elvis was laying on the floor in immense pain and bleeding, Olivia crawled over to her father and stayed at his side, looking up when Brad and Melinda rushed past her with two suitcases and heading outside to the car

Elvis slowly turned his head to look at Olivia who smiled when he made eye contact with her. "I- I love you...b-b-baby...." He struggled to get the words out of his mouth

The gruesome couple came back inside to retrieve Olivia when they froze at hearing the siren of a police car, not too sure what to do. The officers had taken the Prescott's down within minutes and called an ambulance for Elvis where he was quickly taken to the hospital. He kept cutting in and out of reality when he was on the operating table as the doctors tried to extract the bullet and treat his wound with care

"Can you hear me, Mr. Presley? We're almost done. You lost a lot of blood though."

He closed his eyes and only seemed to crack them open not too long after to see someone who he loved and wished hadn't gone so soon. Her appearance was that of one he didn't recognize, thin and not so bloated like her last few years and no dark circles evident under her eyes. A plain and simple lilac dress hung comfortably on her body and that smile. Oh that smile he hadn't seen since he saw her on his movie set of Loving You. Gladys. She smiled in greeting at her son and pulled him in for a hug that he most likely had been longing for

"I'm glad to see you, Elvie. But you've come much too soon. Your time hasn't come yet." She had a hint of sadness in her voice but she knew someday they'd be together again

"Momma, don't go. I love you, I need you." Elvis pleaded as he gently held her, embracing his mother like his life depended on it

"I love you too but you have a daughter to look after now and a future that still lies ahead of you. I'll always be watching over you. My darling boy."
