Elvis was bustling around the mansion like an energetic kid, making sure every little thing was perfect since Priscilla was coming to Memphis for a brief visit though his friends didn't have a good feeling about any of it, especially after finding out some unfortunate news from Minnie Mae
"Hey E, we've got something to tell you. It's about Priscilla." Lamar said from where he was standing by the sink in the kitchen, washing his hands after making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
Elvis, running back and forth from the carport to the Jungle Room, stopped and turned to look at him through the opening above the sink. "Like?" He questioned
"Elvis, she's seeing someone." Lamar sighed
"Really?" Elvis laughed a little as if it was a joke
"Yeah, some guy she met over in Germany. They've been going steady for a few months." Jerry called out from the dining room
Elvis felt his stomach flip at the news of the woman he was trying to win back had moved on, already forgetting about him. He didn't know that his heart could get broken in less than a day. The sound of the doorbell ringing got everyone's attention and Vernon was the one to answer the front door, delighted to see it was none other than Priscilla. Elvis walked over with much nerves, rubbing at the back of his neck and trying to think of what to say to her, his eyes meeting hers as she stood in front of him in the foyer. They were both at a loss for words considering the circumstances from last time they saw each other
Elvis looked down at feeling a small tug on his white pants. "Is that my mommy?" Olivia pointed to Priscilla
"First of all, don't point at people. And....I don't know if she'd want to be your mother exactly..." He cleared his throat and fixed his shirt collar
"But she has blue eyes too and I could have gotten my blonde hair from you. I've seen the boxes of hair dye in your bathroom."
"Olivia." Elvis said in a firm tone
Priscilla picked up the cutie pie and kissed her on the cheek. "How are you? I can't believe you're already three." She smiled
"Daddy's been acting like a crazy person all day, I think he's trying to impress you." Olivia smiled at the kind woman
"Is that so?" Priscilla raised a curious eyebrow. She placed the child down so she could go play, Olivia running off to go outside to the backyard and leave the adults to their own business
Priscilla spent most of her time with Minnie Mae in her room, catching up and enjoying one another's company just like the old times when she used to stay at Graceland. When the sun had set far below the horizon and the lightning bugs began to display their little light show, Priscilla knew her visit had come to an end, hugging Minnie Mae goodbye and telling her to call if she ever needed anything. She walked out of the bedroom to the foyer area towards the front door, the house quiet as can be which was a bit odd considering how many people were usually bustling around Graceland at all hours
Just as she opened the glass door and took a step outside, she heard that deep melodic voice almost everyone recognized
"Leaving so soon?" Elvis asked, striding over from the kitchen area as if he had been waiting for her
"Yeah, it's getting late. I have an early flight to catch. I'm glad Minnie Mae invited me to visit, it was good seeing her again." Priscilla turned towards him, closing the door to keep any pesky insects out
He parted a hand through his short fair hair, clearing his throat. "Cilla, I miss you a lot. I know you're happy with the man you're seeing."
"Elvis, I really don't want to hear it. Your grandmother invited me to visit and I did. End of story." She crossed her arms over her chest, shifting her stance
