Nirvaan's POV.....
Joining a new company means moving out of your comfort zone. But I know at my current position of mine, the corporate world doesn't allow you to stick to one place for a longer period. But it's a different experience every time, learning at every stage is my main forte and I do love exploring challenges.
I am Nirvaan Mehta(CA and MBA). I have a mother and a younger sister. My dad left us due to his ill health when I was young, in my school days and my mother was our pillar of strength. My father was running a small export import business and my mom took over the business after his demise. My dad had always included Mom in all the business meetings and had shared with her the business details, maybe anticipating his ill health would take a call on him. Hence, my mom quickly took a grip on the business, besides she is a very dominating as well as a loving person. She had developed a great ability to juggle between work and family. A woman of few words, whose eyes speak volumes, my mom has worked with dignity and paved the path in this society for 25 years for the survival of her family.
I have a lot of respect for and love my mom very much. I am very much influenced by her determination and hard work. Her nature provoked me to study hard and prove myself. From the beginning, I was a bright student and my mom's determination made me what I am today.
She never forced me to join her in the business, as the business couldn't grow much due to its own early days' challenges. However, it does provide us for leading a good standard of living and our education. My mom chose to live in Igatpuri, a place 3 hours away from Mumbai and my bubbly younger sister Kiran is in London completing her studies.
I won't say that I had everything in a gold platter but neither was there any scarcity. I worked hard toward my success and to make my mom feel proud. When I got selected from the campus on merit and directly posted as the Senior Post, with glistering eyes when she hugged me saying I am proud of you my son, I felt as if I conquered the world.
From then there was no looking back for me. When I bought a home in south Mumbai with my loan and my savings, I tried to convince her to come and stay with me, but she preferred to stay in our hometown so that she can look after the business.
Living alone is very boring but I am not a saint. I am completely aware of my looks, it's not only easy to pave the way professionally but in my personal life too, my looks are the biggest compliment. I do have one-night stands, hookups, and my own share of girlfriends.
My mom is fully aware of my lifestyle and had made me promise one thing that my lifestyle wont affect the family and I will not force any girl at any point of time. But there was no need for me to force any girl, my money, my success and my physique worked for me.
I never indulged in any serious relationships. Women who speak on investment and give their opinion on business or debaters are not my type. Women with all glamour and beautiful with a model-like figure and who look very attractive are being charmed by me. It's easy to flatter them with all gifts and they do like to get pampered.
Showering them with gifts and pampering were no issue for me, being rich. Money & the successful position played a vital role in attracting them to my benefit. Of course, I took the courtship to the next level only with mutual consent.
I joined Premier Global 1 month back as CEO and immediately due to some compelling issues I had been working in the Bangalore office. During this month I got a handhold on how the company works, what are the MD and Management's expectations of me and how normally the company functions.
Today is my first day at my Mumbai office. I as the CEO of the company had an interaction with the team heads. I must say all the team heads were prepared and all the presentations were up to the mark. I made it a point to appreciate them for their preparedness.
However, among everyone, one person captured my eyes. "Netra" nice name. I felt something different about her presentation. She was very precise and at the same time had a grip with full know-how on her casework. She must be in her twenties and a look at her, I could say that her paperwork would be very perfect.
She possessed a very average look, neither thin nor fat, with a wheatish but flawless complexion. She had very sharp features, her eyes were in almond shape which was very expressive when she gave her presentation. Her hair was tied into a ponytail. Among all that caught my eye was her level of confidence when she explained in detail about the case. But I knew she is not my type even though I made a second glance at her before exiting, asking her to submit the case papers with my secretary.
After lunch, I moved to my cabin and sat on my chair opening my laptop. During the lunch MD and I had discussed various topics relating to the business. Meeting today with all department heads was really very useful. I mentally thanked the MD for arranging this.
It was almost 5.30 p.m. when I finished reading all the important documents. Just then I notice one orange file with a name tag- Legal Department. I immediately realized it's the same file, which I had asked Netra to give me for going through.
With curiosity, I started going through the case papers. As anticipated, the documents were in order giving a perfect view of the legal cases. The girl has done a proper recording of the legal proceedings and the further course of actions were also charted down meticulously. I was totally impressed upon going through it. Just in one case pertaining to an ex-employee, I found that the case was to be reworked and dealt with in a different way. So, I decided to have a discussion with the concerned person, so immediately asked my secretary to put one mail to the Legal department.
