Hey, folks.
Yeah, this is a change of pace, huh? The character talking directly to you in a light novel?
I figure we should quickly get introductions out of the way. It's easier to understand who I am if I directly tell you who I am and the start to my story. First off, my name. Be warned, though. I'm coming off one HELL of an adrenaline high from my last encounter, so this entire thing for me talking to you is gonna sound like a spastic gray parrot that learned how to type.
This opening description chapter is gonna be short, sweet, and completely incomprehensible to any sane person.
My name is Joshua Greene. Or, that's what I call myself now, for my own safety. I wasn't born with this name, but I ended up changing it to make things easier on myself.
I was born relatively normal, though most of my first few years were spent jumping up and down the east coast as my family traveled the US. I was born in a military hospital, born on the south side of Fort Campbell in Tennessee. They apparently have a system there they use to determine how you're born, but that's not important. My family had moved to West Virginia after a while, and settled there.
The man that used to be called my father was a medic. A combat medic that served in Iraq and Korea. Damn near everyone knew him. They used to joke that they'd have to put him on the moon if they ever had to put him into witness protection, because no matter where he was, at least one person would've known him.
Made his funeral a lot more interesting to look at, and a lot more interesting to watch the reactions of. But more on that later. No use spoiling all the details, right?
Anyways, mom was barely in the picture. She was there, but with how emotionally distant she was, it was basically like she wasn't there in the first place.
My family is rather large when it comes to siblings. I have two older sisters and three younger brothers, the oldest of all of us being 32 and the youngest of us being 13. Time wasn't really good to us, and we usually said that the further down the line we got, the worse things got. My oldest sister had the least severe attention problems, and is pretty intelligent to boot. She got married a few years back, and is in a happy relationship.
Conversely, the youngest brother stopped going to school a while ago, and is failing all of his classes. He has the worst attention problems out of all of us, and basically got the brunt of the bad parenting from our parents. It'd be a miracle if he even got into summer school, let alone pass his current classes.
But enough of that. Where are we now, you may be wondering?
Well, right now, I've moved out of my family home. A shitty, leaky old trailer that was falling apart at the seams with holes in the walls and ceilings, with a 5 year long roach and bedbug infestation that I narrowly managed to avoid bringing with me. I live with the Crynn family a bit further down on the East Coast, living in the basement of my best friend's family. I pay a decent amount of rent each month, but life is fairly easy to deal with. Outside of the heart issues, anyways. Turns out growing up in an environment with a militaristic father, an excess of siblings, ungodly amounts of stress, and the expectation to succeed as the oldest son isn't exactly healthy for a growing adult.
Hypertension is a bitch that's constantly threatening to kill me now, but that's not too important. We might be fixing that in this story. Who knows?
Anyways, enough exposition. I'm gonna get into the story now. Are you guys ready for this?
If not... Well, put the book down and find something else to do. This isn't gonna be for the faint of heart. Especially with what I have planned for everyone that I just plain don't like.
Hell... With what I managed to find, I could easily just change the world here and now.
But if you ARE ready, then good! Sit back, relax, grab some popcorn, a trash can just in case you need to barf, and a drink to wash out the taste. This is gonna be fun.
My life is pretty wild as of recently, and I probably won't be updating very often or at least consistently. So as far as I can and as often as I can, I'll tell you what I can about my life and what's led up to me effectively becoming the biggest menace to society this side of the pacific.
