AIADMK Flays Stalin for Calling Former Ministers "Criminals" in His Letter to President
AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palanisamy has criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for labeling former ministers as "criminals" in a letter to the President. In the letter, Stalin accused the Governor of non-cooperation and raised concerns about pending bills, the dismissal of a minister, and the reopening of corruption cases against former AIADMK ministers.
Palanisamy condemned Stalin's use of the term "criminals" to describe the former ministers. He stated, "We condemn the fact that in order to protect his family and his cabinet ministers from corruption allegations, Stalin himself acts as a judge and labels our former ministers as criminals." Palanisamy, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the current Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, also alleged that the DMK was the source of corruption in the state.
He further criticized Stalin for writing a letter to a President whose party representatives did not vote in favor of. Palanisamy emphasized that while they don't mind whom Stalin seeks support from, they will not permit him to use their names unnecessarily in a letter that is supposed to seek his assistance. He accused Stalin of spreading false allegations and called the DMK government fraudulent.
Palanisamy expressed disappointment with the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), claiming that it had been investigating DMK ministers for the past decade but is now working with the DMK government to dismiss corruption cases against them. He reiterated that the investigations into the cases against former AIADMK ministers are ongoing and urged Stalin to focus on his own cabinet and ensure a fair and just investigation.
