The snows of winter littered the high mountains of Northern Volkadar, the lands owned by the mighty family known as The Stormcrowns. The weather and atmosphere were peaceful, but truly the land was in disarray as a Tyrant was in control and wiping out any opposition. A Blond haired male stood gazing out at the winter storm as the echoes of war horns drew closer and closer to his home, today he would have to make a decision, one that wouldn't just affect his life; but the lives of his children.

"My Lord, Roose's men are approaching and they are coming for your head." A servant approached behind him, the concern in the servant's voice managed to grab Ulfric's attention.

"The Tides of Pain approach us, I will not let him take my head but I shall do what's best for my family, Please make sure Cedric and Aurora are ready to leave with my dear Cilla." The Lord replied before gripping his sword.

Soft footsteps could be heard echoing in the stairwell as something barged through the door. "Dad!" The voice of a young boy called out as his footsteps stopped in the middle of the room. The brown haired and baby faced boy looked at his father. Across his face there was a soft smile. In his eyes, Hope burned bright that maybe things would go their way for once. On his hip was a sheathed training sword. Almost like he thought he could do something with it.

Ulfric's attention turned to his son and heir, "Ceddy, my son." He called out before embracing his son into a warm loving hug. "Son, I'm going to have to go for a while but I will see you when fate ties us back together." The lord stated before reaching for a small amulet with a dragon head engraved on it, "This was the amulet that my father was gifted, from Odin himself, now it belongs to you."

Cedric would look at his Father for a moment, his smile remaining as he looked up at Ulfric. "Wait.. What do you mean? Why do you have to go?" The smile dropped from his face as did the hope in his eyes. He briefly glanced away, if only to collect himself, gazing down at the amulet as he gently took it from his hands. He would clasp his hand around it. He was scared and unsure of what to say "Dad.. please don't go" He was seeing the signs. Tears beginning to form in his eyes.

The sorrow in Ulfric's eyes started to show, the real reason he was doing this was to protect his family from a fate that he didn't even want to think about. "Ragnar is going to take you, Aurora and your mother away to safety, I'll be safe my son, the blood of Asgard flows through our veins," he said comforting his young son.

Cedric would look up at his Father as he simply just nodded. Tightly holding onto his Father's hand he would pout softly like any child would. "Dad.. please don't go. You can come with us. They won't find us." He said softly as he continued to tightly grip his Father's arm.

Ulfric stepped back, "As long as I am in Volkadar you're at risk, one day soon you'll rally the people into a rebellion and bring back the golden age." He explained, the horns in the distance grew louder and louder with each passing moment.

The young Asgardian would look down at the floor for a moment, Hesitantly looking around before he looked back up at his Father. Nodding "Just promise that you will come back Dad" He said as he raised a pinky up towards his Father.

Ulfric looked to one of his guards to go to his wife and daughter, "Cedric this is not up for debate, You're leaving now well I make sure it is safe for Ragnar and his people to leave." He muttered before aushering his son alongside himself out the room.
