Monday

ZZT ZZT, Ramil's phone vibrated causing him to stir in his sleep. He simply ignored the notification but was then awaken by his school alarm sounding off.
He lazily pressed the stop button, drifting back into a dream, but not long before his second alarm rang.

"Oh my gosh." He groaned before pressing the stop button once again then began to check the notifications on his phone.

Like usual it was just notifications from the basketball group chat talking about practice starting next month. A text from his father, Joseph Anderson, and one from his mother, Farah Anderson. Of course, they were texting to see if he were awake and ready for the first day of summer school.

He rose from his bed stretching, letting out the most annoying yawn ever before calling the family group chat to let them know that he was indeed awake.

Joseph and Farah never missed a beat when it came to their one and only child, Ramil Anderson.

"Good morning my handsome boy." His mother smiled from ear to ear in her light blue scrubs.
Farah was a nurse, but when that phone rings and "Son" flashes across the screen, she was going to answer.

"Ima young man." Ramil propped his phone up so he could multitask getting ready for school and talk to his parents.

"I made some bacon and eggs before I left the house this morning so you could make yourself a breakfast sandwich. Just gotta put your bagel in the toaster." His father spoke while flipping through some paperwork. Most likely some papers that needed to be graded. His father was a professor at the University of Redland.

"This why you my dawg pops."

"Boy I ain't no dog."

"And I ain't no boy. Ima young man."

"We know you're a young man, but you'll always be mommy's handsome boy." His mother puckered her lips giving him virtual kisses.

"You just can't help yourself with the lovey dovey mushy stuff can you baby?"

"Don't get jealous baby, I'll give you some lovey dovey mushy when we're both home."

"Aye son get off the phone me and your mama need to talk business."

"Don't gotta tell me twice." Ramil chuckled. "Y'all are disgusting."

"Ain't nothing disgusting about love, you'll learn that one day. Have a good day at school son, I love you."

"What your mother said times two, I love you son have a good day in general."

"Joseph you're such a one upper." His mother shook her head with a laugh.

"I love y'all too, see y'all later at home. Ima go to Mekhi's house for dinner tonight though. Miss Val making her famous Enchiladas."

"Aight, see you son."

"Aight." He hung up the call with a smile on his face.

Ramil knew how grateful he was to have both his parents in his life, but it was a blessing that they were still healthy, happily married, and in love.
When it was Ramil's turn to be with the love of his life, he knew he wanted it to be just like his parent's relationship, but with his own story.

Since it was only summer school Ramil wasn't looking to impress anyone. Therefore, he slipped on a plain white Polo tee over his fresh two strand twists, some sweats, and Nike slides. He sprayed some YSL cologne all over his 6'1 frame to complete his fit before staring at himself in the mirror to admire his looks.

Ramil was of Native American descent from his mother's side of the family and African American from his father's side.

He had a nice Brown skin complexion, dyed light brown hair that were shoulder length for his twists, small patch of chin hairs, and dark brown eyes to complete his facial features.
