William Afton struggled a bit as he wedged himself into the bottom half of the costume. After a few seconds he pulled the yellow torso piece up to his chest. He looked into the big mirror above the sink and smiled into the reflective glass. He straightened the mauve colored bow on the lighter yellow colored torso. The two black buttons under the bow made it look like he was wearing some sort of fancy yellow suit.
He picked up the head off of the ground and looked at it. The yellow ears sagged a bit at the tips but pointed towards the ceiling not as straight as they used to, but straight. And the green eyes and the grinning mouth looked as friendly as ever.
Two years had passed since the tragic incident with Evan and Fredbear. William had a hard time thinking about it. When he saw Micheal and his friends in the room that day, terrorizing his younger brother, he thought it would have been just the normal jump scares and crying.
He was wrong.
William shook his head and realized he was frowning. He wiped his eyes and smiled into the mirror again. The door opened and a man stepped into the bathroom just as he put the bunny head on.
The man looked at him and stared.
Spring Bonnie's jaws parted into a grin and he put a hand up to indicate a friendly greeting.
The man still looked at him weirdly but smiled slightly. He rushed into a stall and slammed the door behind him.
Some people act so strangely toward Spring Bonnie, William thought. It's weird that they would look at a smiling bunny in fear. He then shrugged. But maybe this suit had some lasting trauma on people who went to Fredbear's Diner. I even have strange feelings with this on. Fredbear was Bonnie's band partner, after all.
Or maybe it's just you don't usually see a man-sized bunny in the bathrooms. Yeah, that would scare the crap out of me too.
Spring Bonnie pushed open the door and left the bathroom. He went towards the main room. He wanted to see the little kids and see them scream in joy at the grinning bunny walking into the room.
He walked into the room, waving back at the kids that smiled or waved at him. He even waved at the kids who stared at him strangely or awkwardly like that same man in the restroom.
A little dark brown haired kid came up to him, holding his mother's hand. He had a big smile on his adorable face.
The little kid went up to him and wrapped his arms around him, hugging him tightly. The yellow rabbit hugged him back. It felt good to hug a child as the mascot. Even better than good.
I once the little kid let go his mom looked up from him to William. Well, Spring Bonnie.
"Could he get a photo with you?" The mother asked.
Spring Bonnie nodded. "Of course!" he said enthusiastically. Or, he tried to.
He put an arm around the kid, the mom took a picture, both of them said bye, and they left him standing there, staring at them.
The feeling was over and all he felt was grief for that one kid he lost in 1983. But he shook his head and smiled inside the mascot head. It was over. It was fine.
He looked to the right toward the stage. Then his eyes caught something red on a table. It was a Foxy plush.. but with a brighter red bow on it.
Who put a bow on Foxy? He thought. I've never seen a child do that before. Whatever. Some kids are strange.
He picked up the fox. His big paws made it hard to keep hold of it, but he did. He held it up to his face.
"Now who's is this?" He didn't turn his head as he looked around the pizzeria. He saw three kids by the strage staring and pointing at him. A short red-headed, a taller blonde, and a dark brown haired child. Maybe it was theirs.
He put it down, almost dropping it on the floor in the process with his big fingers, and then he touched it on the nose. He heard the sounds of a little kid stomping ceaselessly and turned. The little ginger boy with glasses had broke from the other kids and was running toward him. Spring Bonnie looked down at the kid a few feet away from him, smiling his unchanging smile.
"What we're you doing with Foxy?" The child asked innocently. William laughed silently.
"Fritz! Fritz! Wait for us!" the blonde haired girl came running over. She stopped beside him, panting.
So he's Fritz.
"Sorry, Susie."
Susie.
The dark skinned boy came sprinting after Susie. He stopped next to her, his hands pressed against his knees while panting also. "Why—so—fast." He took big gulps of air after every word.
Fritz laughed. "Sorry Gabe!"
And Gabe.
"Gabriel! You almost ran into me!" Susie said. Gabriel's face flushed.
Gabriel.
Spring Bonnie leaned down and patted Fritz on the head. "I'm just telling him how pretty he looks with his bow!" He turned to Susie. "Is it yours?"
"Yeah, it's mine," Susie said quietly. "But I don'r know who put the bow on him."
Okay, weird.
Bonnie clapped his hands together. "Well, then, what shall we do?"
"We were just talking about the animatronics," Gabriel said.
"Nice!" Spring Bonnie laughed. "What else?"
Susie swallowed. "Um, I forgot to tell you guys—Mangle ran away."
Fritz looked at Susie. "Not Mangle!"
Gabriel looked down at his feet. "Sorry."
Susie smiled slightly. "I'm sure she's okay."
Weird name for a pet, William thought. Speaking of pets, Didn't I see a dog get run over this morning?
He looked at Susie, not willing to tell her what he saw just yet. Her pet might be something else.
Another boy with dark hair and tan skin came over. "Did I hear you talking about Mangle? She was a good dog."
Well shit.
"Mangle's fine. I'll tell you if someone else knows where she is." Spring Bonnie said as his thoughts raced in his brain. "Sorry, kid."
"It's okay, I guess." Susie muttered.
The newcomer raised a hand to wave. Spring Bonnie waved back. "I'm Jeremy." He said. "I've never really tried to talk to you before."
"Oh, that's fine. I always come back every day, so, no worries!" (hehe)
Jeremy laughed nervously. "Yeah, um." He then turned to Gabriel rather quickly. "I got your tickets. Why don't we go get them and get a prize or something?"
Gabriel grinned. "That sounds awesome! Thank's Jerm!"
He put an arm around Jeremy, and his friend groaned. "Don't call me that ever again, please. But yeah, let's go." The kids then ran off toward the prize center.
Spring Bonnie turned to Fritz and Susie. "So," he said. "Would you kids like to come?—"
"Susie," A voice called. Her mother, maybe. "Fritz! come over here please."
"Coming Mom!" Susie grabbed Fritz hand and before she left, turned to Spring Bonnie.
"Maybe later," she said, smiling, and ran away towards her parents.
Spring Bonnie waved. William groaned quietly. "Only if the parents weren't here," he muttered, stalking away towards another group of kids. He waved to them and swiftly put a jolly voice on.
"Hey, kids!"
A child wearing a yellow skirt and dark blue overalls looked at Spring Bonnie greeting the kids out of the corner of her eye. She shoved a string of her hair out of her face, and shook her pigtailed head. She walked toward the arcade to play more games, her arms swinging by her sides as she went.
