This ordinary life of mine changed these couple of months.

From the day I met Ai, I devoted myself to aiding her in birth. Frankly, I had my share of doubts and mixed feelings, but I've chosen my path. After all, I may have become a doctor just so I could help with this. Oh, God. How much you favor me in this life. Amen.

The time I spent with Ai quickly went by and her due date arrived. After this, we'll just go back to being an idol and her fan. I've come to terms with this, as I've seen a face she normally hides. That frank personality of hers, and I think I like it.

''Hey,'' I jerk my chin to the voice, as I'm met with a hooded guy. From the way, he stood, looked, and felt. I could tell, he was bad news.

''Are you Ai Hoshino's doctor?'' Ai Hoshino. He's bad news. He knows Ai's name despite how much I've covered for her.

I turned my body towards the unknown. ''...How do you know her family name when we haven't released it? Even if you saw her at the hospital... She uses a pseudonym at her appointments.''

Thoughts rushed, analyzing the person. I take a step forward, in hopes of taking a glance at his face.

''Are you an acquaintance? Can I get your name?'' My eyes scanned for his facial features. However, the unknown had sensed the danger, like prey sensing their inferiority in front of a predator, and dashed off towards the woods.

''Hey! Stop!''

I went in hot pursuit through the dense vegetation, staying on the tail of the hooded figure. Is he a stalker? Now, when she's about to give birth...?

Running through the shadowy forest, I find myself at the side of a cliff, with no sign of the individual. I lost him... Damn it. Making me run down a mountain road like this.....

I turn the flashlight on my phone, shining through the thick bushes and hindering trees. But, with no sign of the individual, I pondered. ''Where'd he go--''

With a force connecting to my back, I was sent down towards the cliff, hitting the protruding rocks in the process. And, as fast as I fell, my vision went black.

''... Nn.....'' Whoa, that startled me. My mind just went black all of a sudden. I think my foot slipped or something.

Oh! My phone.....

Has Ai gone into labor?

Where's my phone.....?

It's dark. I can't tell.

Actually, I can't move...

I need to get over there, fast.

I mean, I promised.

I said I'd make sure her kids were born healthy...

I have to get up...
