POV: narrater
Walking through the school halls, you shuffled your feet tapping your finger against the trap on your backpack. Slowing your walk as particularly slow people showed infront of you, you groaned and tried not to seem pushy as you asked them to sped up.
"Hey could you walk a lil' faster?" You asked, irritation itching at the back of your throat.
The two kids looked at you, obviously bothered by your interruption but stepped out the way for you.
"Thank you—"
You said hastily, smiling quickly as you rushed by the two ignoring their side glances. You got to thinking about your time here as you walked, making sure to still stay focuse on your surroundings. Your school year was great, nothing fantastic but interesting enough that you don't get bored.
You tried making a name for yourself here, stepping up for school president and trying your hardest in a debate team.
But everytime you tried to do something that made you stand out, you were quickly pushed two steps behind as your talents always leveled as average. So you understood quickly that standing out would do you no good, and only waste your time.
You felt your stomach twist and your brow furrowed, yet you had no time to dwell on your misfortunes of never being seen as your classroom door smashed into your face.
—-no like, literally smashed into your face.
"FUCK—"
You cursed, holding your nose. A small trickle of blood running onto your fingers slightly staining your shirt, you looked at your shirt with frustration. But swiftly went back to holding your bloodied nose,
Apparently someone had to open the door as you walked in, and that someone rushed to you. Panicking gushing and hovering over you with a concerned tone in their voice, grabbing a tissue and handing it to you.
"I'm sosososos sorry—-" they started, still in your space.
"M' fine" you mumbled out, muffled by your hand.
"Are you okay? I'm so sorry. I didn't know you were there, do you need any help?—"
The questions and apologizes poured out from the kids mouth, your eyes still pressed shut together from the pain you couldn't really see them. But just by guessing and their voice, you think they are male.
He finally stopped apologizing and took your hand that help your nose and tissue,
POV: y/n
I felt his hand touch mine, my anger still fouced on him but in the instant his hand touched mine I felt a spark.
Something deep within me in which started a fire that burned, I felt complete with his hand on mine. My eyes opened finally, the pain becoming nothing more then pinch in the moment.
The boy infront of me reminded me of knights in the fairytales my friends often talked to me about, yet he felt as familiar as said friends.
He wore a brownish sweater, overlapped with a deeper colored brown. Around his neck was placed a golden necklace, nothing special but I ate it all up the same.
His hair overhung his eyes light brown and fluffy, and it was a miracle that he could even see at all. He wore a mask that hid most of his features, and it almost pained me that I couldn't even see his eyes.
He must have felt the same because he pulled back, holding his hand like he was wounded leaving the burning flame to die out inside me.
My senses came back and the pain flooded soon afterwards, once again my eyes snapped shut and my hands back to holding my nose.
The boy infront of me seemed to come to his senses as well, rushing to grab more tissues by the sound and handing them to me. And I could tell he would trying his hardest to not touch my hand even slightly (yet I knew he wanted that spark back just as me when I felt his hand still for a second near mine.)
He lead me through guiding words, still just as hesitant to even tug on my clothes. My hand pressed tightly to my nose and face, but fortunately I could finally open my eyes.
The walk to the nurses office was silent, both of us to scared to speak of what happened—which in fact made me a little upset that he didn't find the moment as good as I did but alas.
I snuck quick looks to him, finally devouring him in full. His hair had been pulled to the side, leaving one of his eyes in the free. (Light blue, a blue I could rest in and hold)
His pants were baggy, almost hitting the ground lazily hanging upon his converses which have seen better days.
Despite his dreamy look and his strong impression, he was quite short being only 5'4 while you were taller then him by a few inches.
His eyes darted to the floor, desperately looking for a place to stare other then me. Myself realizing that I shouldn't be staring I looked straight, my finger tapping again at my backpack strap.
—
Once we made it to the office the nurse quickly understood the situation, walking me farther into the office and handing me paper towels to hold near my nose while we waited for the blood to stop.
The boy, though scared to even be close to me walked in as well. Standing on the sidelines and awkwardly watching as the nurse helped another student, his hands and arms glued to his side.
The nurse gave him a side glance as she walked back to me, never saying a word but completely explaining what she wanted.
"Ah! Right—" he said, almost running out the office.
I watched him leave, the nurse —-Miss. Andrews asking me to lower the paper towel to look at my nose.
"Pity," she said, her voice soft yet prominent. Her hands moving my face and examining my nose, I opened my mouth to ask why but she started to explain and beat me to it.
"I thought he would stay longer, you two were so close toughther when he brought you here."
I looked at the wall, I didn't remember him being close. If anything he was pretty far away from me, scared to even look me in the eyes.
I looked again at her, my brow furrowed again. She sighed but explained once more.
"I guess you wouldn't see it, but I did. He was practically bumping elbows with you, safe for nearly an inch separating you two. As for the fact he seemed nervous to leave,"
Her hands removed from my face, my head slumping down in thought. She didn't seem to care though, only raising my hand back to make sure that blood didn't get anywhere else.
As she walked back to her desk, probably doing work of relaxing I thought about what happened when we touched.
It felt normal, yet completely new. A feeling — or a emotion that hit me, it wasn't right just perfect all at the same time.
As I thought I realized something,
"I FORGOT TO ASK HIS NAME—-"
