In the lunch room, Bella walks with Mike and Jessica to a table. She felt nervous enough on her first day, not to mention all of the eyes on her.

"A masterpiece" Eric insisted to the people at his table "We'll have like this crazy pyramid fall from the sky-"

His voice died out as he watched Mike pull out a chair for Bella, telling her "It's my pleasure."

"Hey, Mikey" he tried to distract him from the brunette sitting next to him "you met my home girl, Bella."

Mike looked up quickly, stuttering "Oh, you-yo-your home girl?"

Eric ginned smugly "Yeah, yeah."

The grin faded as Tyler ran behind the two "My girl" he said cheekily while kissing Bella's cheek. He followed this by pulling Mike's chair out from under him "Sorry, I had to break your day, Mike!" He shouted, before he bolted from the table. Mike was quick to chase after him angrily.

Jessica scoffed, trying to play it off as a laugh "Oh my god, it's like, the first grade all over again, you're the shiny new toy"

Angela suddenly pulls her camera out and points it at Bella, shouting "Smile" before clicking the camera

Bella replies "Okay" awkwardly and flashes a small smile.

"Sorry," Angela told her sheepishly "I needed a candid for the feature-"

Eric cut her off "Feature's dead Angela, don't bring it up again!"

Bella was quick to reassure Angela "It's okay, I just-"

Eric smiled at her "I-I got your back baby" he says, patting Bella's shoulder before walking away

Angela looked sadly down at her camera "I guess we'll just run another editorial on... teen drinking..."

Bella smiled and hesitantly suggested "You know, you could always go for... eating disorders, speedo padding on the swim team."

Angela looks up at her, excited at the idea "Actually, that's a good one."

As Jessica and Angela start talking about the feature, Bella zones out, glancing at the window, watching new people enter the lunchroom.

"Who are they?" Bella asked. Angela and Jessica look towards the window

"The Cullens" Angela replied

Jessica picked at her salad, trying to avoid eye contact with the Cullens "They're um...Dr. and Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They moved down here from Alaska like, a few years ago"

Angela nodded "They, kinda keep to themselves."

A tall, muscular man with short black hair enters first. On his arm is a beautiful blonde, with a haunting beauty that makes everyone near her stop to look.

Jessica scoffs, poking her salad aggressively "Yeah 'cause they're all together, like TOGETHER together." She scrunches up her nose and talks lower, pointing out the couples to Bella

"Uh, the blonde girl, that's Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmett, they're like a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal."

Angela rolls her eyes, like they've had this discussion many times "Jess, they're not actually related"

"Yeah, but they live together. It's weird, and" Jessica stopped herself as another couple walked by their table "Okay, the little dark-haired girl's Alice, she's REALLY Weird, and, um, she's with Jasper, the blonde one who looks like he's in pain."

Jasper and Alice pass behind the girls, walking in the same direction as Rosalie and Emmett. Jasper spun Alice gently, causing a small giggle to escape the girl

Jessica watched the two walk judgement clear on her face "Dr Cullen's like this... foster dad slash matchmaker."

Angela smirked at the two girls "Maybe he'll adopt me."

The last two Cullens enter the lunchroom. One was a tall and pale man with copper hair, the other an almost equally tall girl with long, curly black hair and heavy, dark makeup that made her stand out among her "siblings". They walk together, the girls hand resting lightly on his arm.

Bella stared shamelessly at the gorgeous pair as they walked to their seat to join their family "Who are they?"

Jessica peeks at the two, before staring at her food again, suddenly angrier than before "That's Edward Cullen and Delphine Hale. They're totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently nobody here is good enough for him. He just struts around with Delphine pretending they're not a thing"

Edward smiles knowingly as he passes the group, Delphine hiding a smirk as she whispers something into his ear.

Bella watches Edward hold out a seat for Delphine at the Cullen table, before sitting beside her.

"Seriously right, don't waste your time." Jessica says, seeming hell-bent on ignoring the Cullens.

Bella shakes her head slightly "I wasn't planning on it."

* * * * * * * * *

Delphine laughed merrily to herself as she heard what Jessica had to say about them. Sure, her blood was boiling when she insulted Alice, but she got over it.

As everyone else seemed to get lost in their own conversations, Delphine looked at Edward.

"They seriously have nothing better to do then speculate what we're doing, huh Eddy" she told her best friend, grinning as he chuckled.

"You should hear her thoughts" he told her "Something about wondering if I 'knocked you up' or not"

Delphine gagged and threw a baby carrot at him "oh that's disgusting"

The two fell into laughter before Emmett interrupted them "Edward, which one of us does the new girl like? Rose and I have a bet going to see who it is"

He smirked, rolling his eyes as he muttered "you owe me" although after a second, his brows furrowed.

Delphine looked at him, concerned "What is is Ed?"

He let out a frustrated growl before tearing his gaze away from the new girl "I can't read her thoughts"

A shocked hush fell over the table as Edward continued to stare, his fingers furiously tearing at the bagel he has gotten to keep up their human appearance.

Before anyone could question it further, the bell rang. While the other Cullens watched, Edward and Delphine quickly left the cafeteria.

"What in the hell was that?" She questioned her brother.

"I'm not sure, but we'll talk more when we get home" he ruffled her hair as he turned "Love you Delphi"

"I love you too" she muttered, already feeling the pit in her stomach form. This was gonna be bad.
