⚠️traumatic flashback|backstory
The sound of an old grandfather clock goes off as it strikes four a.m. A young woman paces the floor of her grandiose home, staring out of the window as she waits for her lovers
"Where is he?" Genesis says, out of breath as she holds up the weight of her skirt.
"He was supposed to be here by now. He said he would be grabbing his suitcases from the basement and that he would be on his way. Why isn't he here?!" She shouts as she turns around.
"I don't know, Lady Genesis." Avery replies. "There is a lot going on in the village. I'm sure that he will be here soon."
"Well, he needs to be here. I cannot wait any longer. My father will be home soon. We have to go."
"The riots have yet to die down." Valerie informs as she walks into the room. "The roads are filled with hunters and civilians. It will be difficult for him to escape the village without interference."
"Riots?" Genesis asks as she looks at Valerie. "That means that my father will be home sooner than expected." She gathers her skirt. "We have to go. I will go to him, if need be. But we must go."
They walk through the halls with haste, wanting to get out as quickly as possible. Avery runs up to Genesis's room and retrieves her luggage as Valerie helps her down the stairs to the first floor.
"We have to move with haste but you need to be careful, Lady Genesis."
"I am trying but we need to get to him." She holds Valerie's hand as they walk toward the large doors.
Outside, Genesis's carriage awaits. She's helped into it and Avery brings her luggage down, stowing away into the back.
They get into the carriage with her and she immediately pulls at the corset.
"Get this wretched thing off of me, please." She breathes laboriously. "Taehyung will not be happy to see me in this as far as I've come."
"Rightfully so." Avery says as she unties the corset.
Valerie taps the glass, letting the coachman know that they're settled in. He whips the horses with the reigns, alerting them to move.
The further they get down the path into the village, the more they realize just how bad it is there.
Homes are in flames, there are men fighting on the streets. Women and children are running to protect themselves. Vampires are ripping through humans as if they're thin pieces of sheet paper.
There is no humanity here.
"Oh my-. Where's Taehyung? We have to get to Taehyung." Genesis begins to panic as she sees the state of the village.
