"... mister jang cheoljung was found dead on his office today. the case was pronounced as attempted suicide. as of now, the election will be delayed".the man in suit, sitting in a fancy chair, smirked as he turned off the tv. "good job, rebecca". he stated and stood up. "this is the biggest achievement you've done so far". he fixed his clothes and directly went to the wide glass wall, staring at the city view.
rebecca formed a small smile as she bowed her head. "i'm just following your order, dad".
"how many times do i have to tell you not to call me 'dad' when it's time for work?". his dad threw a quick glare at her as he said it in a cold tone. rebecca's smile fade away as she hears that.
"i'm sorry, master do". she bowed.
his dad sighed in disappointment as he walked back to his chair. "your work is done, you may leave".
"yes, master do". rebecca bowed for the 3rd time as her goodbye. she then exited the office and went directly to her room.
she never like her job. killing and punishing someone because of what they did is not easy for her. tho, she was doing this for five years now, she was still not into it. she loves law. she wanted to pursue it but his dad was against her. she have no choice but to follow her dad, unless she will leave and live on her own.
meanwhile, on the other side, a woman that is sitting silently on the bench wipes her tears as a guy approached her.
"lady sam, your dad wants to talk to you.". the guy who happened to be one of his dad's men said and bowed as soon as he left.
sam then stood up and directly went to his dad. the moment she held the doorknob, she saw her dad talking to some of his men. "look now. i thought he wanted to talk to me. why is there other shitty man here". she whispered on herself. she sighed in annoyance as she remained standing behind the door, trying to hear the conversation inside the room.
"i got a new report from detective kang, they found the killer..."
sam's eyes immediately squinted as she heard that. she slightly opened the door and saw her dad holding an envelope.
"the details and picture of her was inside of this envelope. i need her here as soon as possible". he said and handed the envelope to one of the men named kirk.
sam frowned. "her?... it's a woman?".
"alright, master Ahn". kirk said and and bowed. "we're now going then".
sam immediately fixed her position as soon as kirk and the other man walked towards the door.
"uh lady sam? you're here". kirk greeted as a big smile formed on his lips. sam didn't response and completely ignored him. she entered the room and sat in front of her dad.
"are you okay?". her dad asked.
"why do you want to talk to me". sam asked with her cold tone. eyes fixed on the old man in front of her.
"did you eat your dinner?".
she annoyingly rolled her eyes. "if you have nothing important to tell me, i'll go leave". she said and was about to stand up when her dad stops her.
"i just want to ask how's my daughter. do i have no right to check you?".
"who is it?". sam asks, referring to the criminal who killed her dearest grandfather.
her dad stared at her. "who what?".
"i know you know who i am referring to". freen walked near to her dad and brushed her hair using her hand. she knew her dad won't let her know anything about this case but that won't count. she will still investigate whether her dad tell her or not.
"how's your work? aren't you going to a new university?". her dad asked, trying to change the topic. sam was already pissed but she couldn't do anything because she knew what could happen if she ever let her anger win.
"you don't have to know everything about me. i'm going now. i have lots of work to be done". without hearing her dad's response, sam exited the room and planned to do something.
she took an envelope on her room and looked for kirk. she then found the man on the mini bar corner of the mansion, completely tipsy.
sam walked towards him and saw the envelope that her dad gave to him on the chair.
"why are you here? don't you have a thing to do?". sam asked as she took a glance on the guy and stares back to the envelope, trying to think a move on how is she gonna exchange it with the envelope on her hand.
she knew that kirk hasn't looked at the photos yet. she should get it from him before he could even start his work.
she should be the one to catch that murderer.
"sam..." kirk muttered, he was obviously drunk already. "when will you accept my offer?". he asked innocently. kirk was madly in love with her that he could risk anything only to have sam. but the woman was cold.
after that one relationship, she was never been in love anymore and promised herself not to be engaged in this kind of stuff, or else she will end up hurting herself again.
"you're drunk, leave it now". sam muttered and moved closer to kirk, the envelope was now behind her so sam took the opportunity to changed it with her fake envelope without kirk noticing.
"please, be my girlfriend, sam". kirk pleased. sam had enough of this. she knew herself that she can only treat him as her brother. after all, they've been together since they're kids. but she can't build a feeling with him.
"that's enough. i'm going now". after sam got what she need, she walked away from kirk and went upstairs.
she then opened the envelope revealing some papers that contains the woman's details including where she lives, her families, where she was studying at the moment, and more.
under the papers was the photo.
"so... it's you". sam muttered under her breath.
she scoffs.
"rebecca.patricia.armstrong".
she was boiling at the moment knowing that this simple girl killed her grandfather.
there's nothing on her mind now but revenge.
one thing she knew, she would make sure to make this girl suffer,
and kill her by herself.
