Evelyn sat curled up asleep in a chair in the clinic right next to Derek. She had taken the day off, and the principal was happy to give her the day, seeing as her sister had died only a few weeks ago. Evelyn had tried distracting herself with work, but being close to Derek seemed to be the only thing that kept her calm. "I think that's the first time she's slept this week," Lydia said as Deaton walked in, handing her a cup of coffee.

"How do you know?" Deaton asked.

"I've seen her driving around a couple of times," Lydia said, not wanting to admit that she hadn't been getting the best sleep herself. She'd showed up at Evelyn's apartment a couple of times when she couldn't sleep needing someone to talk to, and Evelyn hadn't said a word, just opened the door and let the teen in no matter how late it had been. Suddenly, Evelyn startled awake, looking around the room wildly. She calmed when her eyes landed on Lydia. She had become close to the young banshee over the last few weeks, the two connecting over their grief and the unspoken feeling of guilt they both felt Lydia's because Allison was there for her Evelyn's because she wasn't fast enough. Evelyn turned to look at Derek who still lay asleep on the table.

"Nothing has changed," Deaton said. "In fact, I want to try something. Can you hold his hand?" he asked Evelyn. She nodded, stood, and grabbed the werewolf's hand tightly.

"What's the scalpel for?" She asked, concerned as she saw the tool in Deaton's hand.

"I want to see how fast he heals," Deaton said, making a small cut down Derek's forearm. His hold on Evelyn's hand almost imperceptibly tightened so slightly that she at first thought it was just her imagination. That was until Derek bolted upright, his eyes glowing blue as he opened them. "Derek," Deaton said as they all backed up. "Derek, you're safe. You're with friends." Derek jumped off the table, panicked. He lashed out. Evelyn jumped in front of Lydia, shoving her backward, but Derek managed to scratch Deaton. He turned, running out of the clinic.

"Derek, Derek, stop!" Evelyn shouted. The Hale werewolf froze before shaking his head and running off. Evelyn had a sinking feeling as to when Derek had been regressed to there was one time in their lives when he had been distant from her when he'd been closer to Kate. "We need to call Scott," she said, turning and rushing out of the clinic. "Tell them that they need to find Derek now," she said.

"Where are you going?" Deaton asked.

"The Hale house," Evelyn said, pausing in the doorway.

"Why would he go there?" Lydia asked.

"Because this Derek, I don't think he remembers." Evelyn rushed out the door into her car. She quickly started the vehicle and sped off towards the woods and the Hale house. At the entrance to the woods, she jumped out, hitting the ground at a sprint, heading for the Hale house.

"Haigh!" she heard someone shout up ahead. She sped up, reaching where the Hale house had been to see a deputy tasing Derek.

"Stop," she shouted, rushing forward, but the second deputy grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

"Haigh, stop!" he shouted. Evelyn realized it was Parrish, a deputy she had gotten to know when Stiles had been taken over by the nogitsune. He had happily jumped in to look for Stiles. The second deputy, Haigh, backed down, letting Derek go, but he instantly slapped cuffs on the teen. "He one of yours?" Parrish asked, referring to what the deputy jokingly called Evelyn's teens.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," Evelyn said.

"Sounds like the normal for this town." Parrish said, "You need a lift, or are you going to meet us at the station?"

"I'll meet you at the station," Evelyn said. "Do me a favor. If Scott and Stiles show up, tell them to just tell him the truth."

"One of these days, you guys are going to tell me what's going on in this town," Parrish said.
