Author's note:
I'm sorry if my writing is getting progressively worse, I never seem to find time even though I love writing this story. Hopefully, things fall into place soon and I can write how I used to. Thank you for your continued support. It had been about a week since the first time they visited the tower. Sunset did become their thing, and Denki loved it. Everyday, they would reach the tower in the later afternoon, play with some pigeons and feed them, then watch the sunset.
However, to Denki's utmost displeasure, their early morning self-defense classes still continued.
Seeing that they had gotten far closer, Katsuki no longer felt hesitant to wake him up early in the morning. There's been times he almost yanked his bedsheets.
"Bakugo- oh lord- wait. My- my goodness, give me a breather-" Denki wheezes, holding his sword up straight, digging into the soil as he rests his chin on the handle, closing his eyes painfully.
"We haven't been practicing for that long, Your Highness. I'm sure a couple hours wouldn't be too difficult." Katsuki mindlessly adds.
Denki almost faints hearing Katsuki. "For a couple more hours? We've been at it since sunrise, Bakugo!" Denki screams, disbelief on his face.
"I mean-"
"It's almost noon now!"
"Okay, well, that's an exaggeration-"
"No it's not! The sun is right over my head, there's no shadow beneath us!"
Seeing that no one can win Denki against an argument, Katsuki ends up accepting his defeat and they retreat into the palace.
As they want through the corridors, Denki huffs and puffs a lot, much more than Katsuki would expect him to. He didn't have such bad stamina.
"Your Highness, are you alright?" Katsuki asks, coming to a stop for what seemed to be the umpteenth time that day. Denki just couldn't keep up.
"Of course I am. Why- why would you say that?" Denki asks, taking in a huge deep breath.
"You just don't seem like it." Katsuki mumbles, mostly to himself.
"Anyways, seeing that we skipped breakfast, let's go get lunch, spend the rest of the day at the gardens."
Katsuki simply nods to everything, seeing that this was their schedule since his first day of work.
Just as they reach the dining, they hear a loud bang on the other side of the hallway, signalling the Queen's return to the throne after lunch.
"Maybe we should go to the kitchen? I think it's too late to be served at the dining, maybe they don't even know we need food right now." Denki mumbles to himself and walks towards the kitchen, with Katsuki following.
"For the last time Your Highness, it really isn't that late. I'm sure we can-" Katsuki stops abruptly when Denki stops in his tracks with wide eyes upon opening the kitchen door.
Katsuki rushes next to Denki, to check if everything was alright.
Suddenly Katsuki's sword clatters on the group, finally catching the attention of the other two inside the kitchen.
It was Midoriya and Todoroki. They were almost completely bare, hands all over each other with love bites littered around their skin.
"Your- Your Highness-" Izuku stumbles through his words, eyes wide at being caught.
Katsuki stands frozen, not being able to peel his eyes off the gruesome sight. Denki immediately turns away, facing away from the door to give them some privacy. He also nudges Katsuki who was shamelessly glaring at them.
By the time the other two inside get a little decent, Denki had come into terms with it. And Katsuki didn't. He felt like blowing something up.
Katsuki felt betrayed. He felt so betrayed he almost wanted to get them caught by the other officials. Homosexuality was criminalised in their kingdom. There could even be a death penalty depending on the case.
Katsuki has heard of all the kingdoms around them which decriminalised it eons ago, but he was somewhat happy that it wasn't in their country.
"I trusted you, Deku. How many times have I asked-" Katsuki's screams are muffled for Todoroki and Denki who were sitting outside Todoroki's room, giving the other two some privacy.
"How do you expect me to tell you, Kacchan? You were so against it!" Midoriya screams back, startling Denki who had never seen him angry.
"I was against it because it's dirty! You're doing a sin, Deku. Do you realise that? A man with another man is against our nature! You're going against your instincts!"
"I'm going against my instincts? If anything you're forcing me to develop such 'instincts'. I'm normal, Kacchan. Whether you like it or not. What's so wrong about me having a boyfriend?"
Just then, the noise of a glass breaking echoes. Denki and Todoroki scramble to open the door. They break it open, although it wasn't thoroughly locked in the first place.
Midoriya sat next to Katsuki on the floor, with tears in his eyes while looking at Katsuki's palm which had a deep cut and blood dripping onto the floor.
Katsuki had broken a glass vase with his bare hands.
"Are you out of your goddamn mind?" Denki gasps, striding towards them and dropping onto the floor next to Midoriya to check Katsuki's bleeding.
Todoroki silently picks up the glass pieces from the floor and disposes them, knowing well that he might just make the matters worse.
"I- I didn't know what I was doing..." Katsuki mumbles, absentmindedly watching Denki fetch the first aid from the other end of the room.
This wasn't the first time he had reacted this harshly. His anger issues have always been a problem, but there are somethings he just cannot accept. A liar and a traitor. And to him, Izuku seemed to fall into both categories.
Denki immediately washes his wound and disinfects it, wrapping it softly with a bandage. He listens to Izuku's sobs, but knows that he could never showcase his support inside the palace grounds.
As the saying goes - Walls have ears.
"I'm sorry I was born this way. I didn't mean to-" Izuku chokes in his tears.
"It wasn't your fault, Midoriya." Denki assures, letting Todoroki calm him down. "How long have you two been together?" He asks before he could stop himself.
"Almost 6 years now." Todoroki replies, still clutching onto Izuku as if he was trying to protect him from Katsuki.
Katsuki sucks in a sharp breath and immediately walks out of the room.
